Not meaning to hijack, but for people without HID's, is it worth getting LED sidelights or sticking with regular sidelights?

Wouldnt do any harm i guess. Only thing is i believe that they are not road legal?

May be wrong but I'm sure a few people have been pulled up for them.

I was under the impression they're legal? Not sure really!

Was just thinking it might look a bit strange, having bright white sidelights and yellow-ish dipped beams?

As far as I am aware yes. Are you planning on changing them yourelf?

From what I remember it is a bumper off job to get in to them, as you need to remove the headlight itself.

yeah doing it myself, i only need to change both side light bulbs though... i thought you caould just access them from behind the light casing itself?

I've seen people at our local cruise be stopped for them, apparently sidelights have to be a 'filament type bulb' so if the coppers in a bad mood yes they are illegal i'm afraid lol

I see i see...
I was just gonna replace them whilst I have the bumper and headlights off one day next week... looks like standards it is.
Thanks :)

You can access the dipped/full beam without removal but im pretty sure that the sidelight is in a real awkward position, making access to change bulbs extremely difficult.
May be different on the lower models, but i recall a friend with a 1.2 saying he had to remove the light.

My first time took me about 15-20mins... theres a guide on the forge website here:

http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/media/FMIBFMIC.pdf

Though one thing I found was the guide says to remove 8 screws underneath... when in reality there's only 6 i believe! I spent ages looking for 2 non-existant screws :/

I just wanted to get new sidelights fitted whilst everything was off, as knowing my luck a sidelight will blow the next day lol.
