Hi,

I have used the search but can't find anything relevent.

Basically my car has always felt like it pulls very strong at low rpm but tends to drop off
higher up quite a bit. I fitted a boost guage earlier and it goes up to 1.3 bar in third gear by
4k rpm, then it slowly drops down and at its lowest its about 0.6 bar. This doen't seem
normal in my experience. Car is stage 1 pretty sure its REVO.

Any ideas would be great.

It has also developed a missfire every now and then, pretty sure its just coil packs though.

Thanks

i dont know a lot about the cupra engines, but i do know those coilpacks are a right pain in the arse! some people even carry spares! maybe you could replace them and see how it goes!

When was the last service / plug change, that could be a factor aswell!

Yeah, I'm going to change the plugs soon. I'm going to have to bite the bullet soon on the coil packs
also. The missfire is temprimental though and the boost does this all the time so I doubt they are
related.

True! could be somthing to do with the N75 valve not copeing with the remap! ive read that you can change it for a better one but im sure a cupra owner will fill you in on that!!

Get vag-com on the case to resolve if there is a missfire on any cylinders.

Your running a standard k03, they run out of puff at around 5kish perfectly normal.

Sounds perfectly normal for a k03. They are small and revo requests lots of boost low down which the turbo cannot sustain higher up the rev range. A front mount intercoolr might help abit if you dont hve one already but still wont work miracles.

OK cheers guys.

Dan- hi mate, yeah if I could use your vagcom some time on the weekend that would be great,
I'm going to try a different coil pack I have in a bit but still need to plug it in really.

Cheers

Emlyn

Right, sorted the missfire, was a coilpack.

In 3rd gear at the moment I am getting a peak of 1.2BAR this is about 17.5 PSI.

My friends re-mapped cupra was peaking at 21psi.

Could his map just be better? Is mine under boosting or his overboosting?

Also mine starts dropping at 4500rpm

Help appriciated.

What map you got and what map does he have? It starting dropping at 4.5k rpm is just what happens with k03 especially without a front mount intercooler

I have a REVO stage one I think, he had the one from Wolverhampton, can't remember the comapany.

It's not so much the drop off, it's just the peak boost seems low! or does it? that is what I'm asking.

Thanks

Emlyn

If your mate had his done in Wolverhampton then its prob a P-Torque map. I have There stage 2 and its very strong.

If you do have a REVO map then the boost and timing can be adjusted via a SPS. There might be someone close to you who has one and could adjust it for you.
The best thing you can do is to get your mate with vag-com to do some logging. Log boost (requested Vs actuale) and take it from there.

Ok mate, thanks a lot for the help. I'm assuming an SPS is some sort of software to alter the map
is it? Or is it a mechanical adjustment?

Thank you

Will hopefully get it on Vag-com ASAP.

REVO's SPS is a little thing you plug into your OBDII port to adjust the REVO map

thats me with vag com! what group is it to do boost logs thats in measuring blocks

Block's 114 and 115

Oh right thanks.

Might be a daft question but is it safe?

What if you make it run too lean etc? Or will the ECU not let that happen?

Thanks
