this is the first time ive read this thread, this is a really nice car mate. i like the fact you've put a lot of effort in to ur little engine, and i know a few people have their doubts about the front splitter round the back, but i actually really like it - its different and makes the rear of the car look more aggressive and squat. well done mate :)

They dont make a Mk2 Leon PD130 as far as I know. A Mk1 Leon PD130 they do.....the Mk2's are 140's and I dont think they're PD's anymore - they're commonrail I think? Someone might be able to confirm...

But I'd say stick it VAG. The Smart cars are reknown for leaking and having bad electrical problems. Plus, if a range rover came head on at you in one of those....rather you than me!

BMW's rust around the arches and aren't that nice unless you get a decent model. Even then I reckon they age like mad.

At the end of the day fella - it's up to you! I'd personally stick with VAG.

VW Bora and slam it! :D
but out of those, I'd say a nice mk2 Leon, or the 3series BMW (if it's the right one :))

Will you be coming along to this month's london meet mixupz?

I'm not saying they're weak. I'm saying you're sat in a plastic car and a forking big range rover comes towards you that's bonnet is the height of your head - I'm letting common sense do the work! I know the Smart Cars have that cage that absorbs a decent amount of the wack. And if someone back ends you - what is gonna take the blow? Your back!

The only problems I had with our's is the front springs snaping and the indicator stalk get's a bad conection so the side light's dont come stright on but thats an easy fix

Ibiza 130 TDI is right, there is no Leon PD130, though I think the 140 Leon diesel is still a PD, only Leon with a CR engine is the new FR.

You could always get a PD105 mk2 Leon I hear they remap well, and there's plenty of them about. Or if you can be swayed away from diesel, the 1.4TSI is pretty fun!

prolly not, due to the gigs that i do in a jazz bar on the weekends im not able to get out quick enough....which is why i stopped organising it...

boras are a lil too big 4 me....:ban:

Ah no worries then matey, what dya do there if you don't mind me asking?

That's ok on the bora, more exclusive for me then :D

i'd say stick with VAG also, BMW parts alone cost a bomb, the mk2 leon or pd130 get my votes!! i was actually looking into pd130's the other day, just dont wanna lose the work iv done on that one!

Those are the ones I was on about. :)

The ones with the roof leak and bad electrics.

You seem set on one though from previous conversations......the only way you'll ever find out is to try it! Might be good, might be bad. :)

i mean i dont think im bent on getting one...i think its just the price and the potential that it has....i guess there are a lot of other cars i should be thinking about...

The BMW's are surprising to have responses like that...i thought they were the sure fire WIN option...
