I have a knocking noise coming from the back of my Ibiza also? Started a few days ago. At first I just thought it was something rolling around in my boot but when I checked there was nothing even in the boot.
Anyone else experienced this? Its like a loud knock after i go over a speed bump or even a small bump in the road?

Alrit all,
Iv now got the knocking problem fixed, it turned out to be the drivers side top engine mount, I had the work dun under warranty, so didn't cost me any thing.
If anybody else has a similar problems check this cus even the seat guy was supprised by this.
Thanxs 4 the other replys.

i have a knocking noise coming from the front of my car too, it seems to be when steering is on full lock and on rough ish ground, is this the problem other people are having ?

Yup, 35mm H&R springs, pretty sure that's the reason it'll start rubbing, and probably get even worse if you completely slam it to the ground. Doubt there's much we can do except maybe fit some cushions, or limit the full lock. Anyone got any idea if you can change the full lock positions?

i shall have to get under the car and have a look see if i can work out y its doing it, the driving like a girl thing could b a problem as i am a girl lol. thanks for ur advice !

Hi all,
I have owned my ibiza 3 months now and about a month ago i started to hear a knocking noise coming from my front drivers side wheel. (i have standard suspension on the car by the way) i took it to seat and up 2 date i have had the following replaced:-

-ARB replaced
-DropLinks replaced
-Power steering rack and pump replaced
-Suspension top mounts replaced

and i still have the knocking noise any body had a simalar problem or any solutions?

i read this thread at the time it was originally post.
 don't know why, but this thought came to me yesterday......

they replaced all that stuff before they realised it was an engine mount?

:wtf:a power steering rack and pump can't be cheap..... especially when compared to an engine mount!!
surely an engine mount would be one of the first things they'd check when investigating a knocking
i know it would be near the top on my checklist.
fortunately it hasn't cost you anything except the inconvenience of continuingly having to go to the dealers:ban:

sounds like the dealer was playing the warranty system to raise income for their dealership :ban:
which dealer was this work carried out at?

Well if that is really what has happened then maybe that dealer needs to be named and shamed to avoid everyone having some nasty expensive "out of warranty" visits!

I have just fitted some heater hose around the track rod for now, not ideal but better than metal on metal

i no i cant believe it 2!!! lol, i sed when they diagnosed it are u sure, and they were possitive. im jst so glad it was dun under warranty and it dent cost me a penny! lol
the dealerships were Seat Barlows in wolverhamton and Colliers in Acocks Green, Birmingham. How wrong they can be.
cheers

I have also started to hear a knocking noise, sounds like its coming form the drivers side front wheel. Only happens occasionally??

Its when going over speed bumps and potholed surfaces??

Is this common to the problems other people have been experiencing

Again its intermitant and is quite faint, dunno whether im just being paranoid??

Help please!!

just had my car looked at by seat for the knocking noise from front drivers side, turns out that i need new hub and baring, if ay1 else has the knocking noise i would check this out.

Would these types of things be checked on an MOT?

Reason i ask is just a few weeks ago i had my in at Seat for the full works, service, cambelt change, MOT etc, you would think somewhere along the way somebody would of checked this?

Especially if 1 or more of the above problems is a common fault?

i dont know tbh, i had mine mot and serviced two months ago and they didnt pick it up, so im guessing not,

no i dont have coilovers luckily i havent started to moddify it yet because i dont think it would be warranty .

Does anyone have any symptoms of steering movement and tramlining and weaving under breaking with problems relating to Top Mounts?
