I'll take some more later. Just a quick shot last night:rolleyes:

The Octy went well, stage 1 but with the boost and timing settings turned up a bit. Felt a bit heavier than the cupra, but felt like it pulled a touch better as well. Good fun:D

Cheers for the comments. Some better pics.....i think.

Am getting a bit of rubbing on full right lock, but pretty sure it's just tyre on the inside of the wheel arch. The front right is a touch turned out when it should be straight, so will pop back to the garage in the morning and get it aligned.

Finding the ride a touch firmer, but not too much worse than it was standard height. And feels a touch sharper in the corners. Happy so far:D

You can see the difference front to back in these pics. Will hopefully get round to adjusting tomorrow. And also the rogue rubbing strips-got more paint now.

What width and offset are your wheels mate?

Mine are ET38 8.5" with a 5mm spacer and they don't rub at all and yours sem to sit out further than mine? :confused:

Are you sure there hitting the inner arch?

They're KEI Force 8s and I think ET45 7.5" from what I can find. And I think the spacer is probably 5mm as well. I think the problem is to do with the wheel alignment, as it looks as if the front right is slightly "toe out" when the wheel is straight. So full lock causes the rubbing. Couldn't get to the garage today, he was too busy, so popping up in the morning.

Your 45 -5 for spacer =40

I'm 38 -5 for spacer =33

I'm inch wider so 25.4/2 = 12.7

So 33 + 12.7 = 45.7

I think thats how you would work it out? I'm 5.7mm closer and mine doesn't touch so yeah I'd say it was something not aligned right, hope you can get it sorted :)

Tyres prob come into it to, some are much more curved than others, dif profiles etc.

Right - quick update. We had a fiddle with the alignment at the weekend, and it looks by eye that the front right is more or less in line now. Annoyingly still rubbing a touch though[:@]

Was thinking about geting a 4 wheel alignment, but when I mentioned that i'd had a smash with the other car going in on that corner just in front of the wheel, they suggested maybe the problem was as a result of that, putting something else out of kilter, maybe the chassis, and the lowering has just emphasized it. Now thinking of going down the spacer route, as I still want to drop the front to even up with the back, rather than getting a 4 wheel done and maybe have them tell me there is nothing doing:think::think:

That will be expensive as you'll ideally need hubcentric spacers above 5mm as they space out over the lip they centre on?

I'm thinking about the H&R ones from DPM. The 10ml (so 20ml total) are listed as about £100. I've posted for a price and we'll see. The 4 wheel alignment would probably be in the region of £80 anyway, so not that much more. And then maybe go for 15/16ml ones on the rear when money allows......

Rears dont have an adjustment mate on Leon's.
There is a way to 'kind of' adjust it, but its a right ******* of a job, involving loosening the rear bushes, and belting them over. Or something to that effect.

Be warned though, as we advertise as 4 wheel laser allignment in work, but we still only adjust the front. Basicly we allign the front wheels up with the rear.

and £80 for it sounds a bit steep! £30+ VAT in our place irrc. :think:

The local place told me it would take about 45mins, but they didn't actually give me a price, so it may not be that much. I've just seen a few posts here and there with that sort of figure on!! I'll probably give them another ring next week to check the price.

I really need to adjust the passenger side to the same height as the drivers side before I do anything else, as its still about 10ml higher. It may just be rubbing because I have lowered a bit, and the pass side will do the same when it's lowered a bit more, so spacers will be the obvious option

I just realised something that might help you out!

It might be the ARB hitting the DS if its right hand lock your hitting on?

Or can you see the tyre hitting the arch?
