Has anyone fitted aftermarket/retro fitted vag cruise control?

AMD wanted silly money, wondered if any of you had any suggestions, id like to use the vag parts, but im assuming id need VAGCOM?

Cheers

VAGParts sold the whole kit for <£50 Anywhere to get it for that sort of money now? It didn't look very complicated to fit..

Wish i'd bought more things from them before they closed up :-(

Hi

I had mine fitted at TTS Roadsport, think it was £150. You can by the stalk and the loom and fit yourself but i deacided against this in the end because by the time I would of bought the bits and fitted them it just seemed easier to let someone else have the hastle.

I fitted mine, it took about 2hrs and half an hour of that was working out the instructions, you need to put in a extention to the loom and then activate on Vag-Com, quite easy really.

Be warned its a good 2.5 hours if not more, theres a fair bit of trim to remove etc, its not as easy as it looks. That said, follow the instructions and take your time, hardest part is the new connectors into the fusebox and ECU!

same here had awesome fit mine £115 all in i thought about doing it myself but it wasn't worth the hassle just to save £30 or £40!

I'm based in south east london/kent, does anyone have any experience with anyone in this area who offers a fitting service?

when u say you paid about 150 pounds, was that including parts or not?

If you get the vag parts kit it comes with full instructions with pictures, its very straight forward just need to make sure you understand it all, as i said it took me about 1.5hrs but i knew where all the screws where when stripping down so it didn't take very long to take apart. the actual fitting is just putting wires in the correct slots.
