yea definately, i surprised my mate with a 300bhp leon cupra r who thought he would pull lorry lengths away form me (on a private road obviously) but actually stayed quite close to him, was not untill big speeds that it felt like i had hit a brick wall and he had a jet engine! weight obv makes a difference and my torque is higher too. my mate did a stahe 1 map for me, but had a few issues with him so not been talking to him for a while so doubt i'll get him to do my stage 3 (his map was amazing tho) probably go with celtic tuning because they ar derv specialists if not another friend who does custom maps :p when you hoping to get your in? and map?

Well it all comes down to funds, or rather lack of them, I'm getting turbo at the end of this month, although wont fit it till Ive got clucth, and funds for a remap. My insurance is due in May so I need to save for that for a couple of months, so that ties up funds till after may, so another couple of months save for clucth, and another month for funds for remap, so works out around end of august, but I'm trying to get more overtime but were a little quiet at work at the moment. I'm not in a massive rush but would like it done before september.

Yes hopefully, just done oil change 2day after work, took out sump plug, and pulled out a load of swarf from the helicoil a previous owner has installed, o ****! anyway cleaned it and its not great, put sump plug back, it didn' t cross thread but it just feels like ****, and doesn't tighten up properly, i've serviced a few cars with these engines and none of them seem to tighten up properly, but never noticed if they had helicoil. Do they have helicoil as standard because its an aluminum sump? if they don't it'll be a new sump I think. Cheers for the help.

Got new sump today, and they don't have a helicoil, and this one tightens up properly. So i'll have to change oil again on saturday, and fit new sump. Good job I bought 25litres of castrol edge 5w40, but It's expensive oil to keep changing like this. I'm tempted if the oil aint to bad to put it back in.

the thing with diesels the oil goes in gold and comes out black almost everytime even if you start it once then drain the oil straight after well the diesels ive worked on in the past anyway.

Your right it does, but I mean as long as theres no bits of the old helicoil in it i'l put it back in. I'll change the filter anyway, just for peace of mind more than anything.

300bhp cupra R  unless he had a bigger turbo than stock, he has no way of getting 300bhp. When are you getting the new turbo back??

yes he is stage 2 plus a few tweeks, spoke to turbo people and they said that it is not component falure but impact damage, appaently they said something went through it but can understand how the blades were intact! might have to flock out some money AGAIN! not sure yet but either way will have a turbo by next week

ok so finally got some good/bad news on the turbo!! update is more like the word...
anyway i get my turbo back on saturday and will get it back on the car the same day. basically it looks like part of the gasket had crumbled off and goone through the wastegate, destroyed it and then destroyed the inside of the exhaust side of the compressor wheel. luckily because it happened at a very low speed it did not cause too much damage to the casing etc.
so im paying for parts and everything else like labour and stuff im not getting charged for. glad im finally getting it back been off the road for 2 weeks now.will get it mapped on sunday too
