i like the sound of the hybrid turbo, whats the differance from a standard one?
theres not to much difference, the externals are basically the same bar the actuator that opens and closes the vanes inside the turbo, everything else inside is almost all different!
they mill out the impellor housing after spliting the turbo and bore it till the vnt 20 (v6) impellor fits nicely, they blue print the internals so theres optinum air flow and they cut back the exhaust turbine blades to allow it to speed up quicker, the bearing is replaces with a 360 degree hardened floating bearing instead of the 270 degrees bearing so its nearly bullet proof, they offer warranty so i say if you go ahead with it then tune the nuts out of it, 1.9 TDI 130/150/160s can handle the stress easy enough!
Mines now for sale in the Seats for sale section if anyone wants to take over from me, not it was sorned for almost a year so its only done 1000 ish miles since last MOT with a milteck straight through pipe and a hollow back box!
