Just for you i took some time today and made a dyno run with my car.

I already have bigger Race783 injectors and a FMIC, a hybrid turbo, Milltek decat non resonated, BMC Box, Custom Intake pipe, EGR valve swapped to race pipe....and so on.

So now i made a quick "all you can get in" mapping, please dont bother its not a nice curve, its no fine tuned mapping, just a quick map to show you what i mean.

The most important on the dynoplot ist the PURPLE LINE, it shows the lambda of exhaust gases.

The car was programmed to make 2.1 bar up to 3500Revs, then falling boost (and injection quantity) in higher revs range.

Why falling?

Well, see what happens to lambda around 3000revs?

I guess you see...its falling into the darkest dark of smoke*g*

And as a result i "only" have poor 218bhp

In this case its just the turbo which is restrictive, with stock injectors you are even more restrictive because you need much more injection duration which generates extra heat and stress....

Regards, Alex

alex i dont see why you bother really, the car dyno'd 244 bhp with 351 pounds of torque.

ive gone a few sections against sti impreza's and left them. i even had one guy say to me (QUOTE) " what the hell have you done to your car, my impreza dyno'd 320 bhp and you left me standing still"

i dont see why you meantion lambda sensor readings also as my car does not have a lambda sensor

from what i see on this graph is your horse power kickes in too quickly. uses any power it has then dies down short of its potential

torque also kickes in too quickly, i guess this would smoke like nothing normal.

my power starts to kick in at 2500 and 90% power at 3100 RPM and 100% at 3700 aswell as an extra stretch kick at 4400. with power going right up to 5100 RPM.

not saying that this is what you should try, with me not being an expert, but why dont you try delaying the map setting so it starts boosting at 2000 instead of 1500. plus having that power start so early can only cause wear to the clutch.

try that out mate and see what you fine. i actually dont know what this might do so please try it if you can :)

another thing i want to know is can you retard your injection timing? apparently my fuel injection was retarded by 1.5 degrees.

Alex doesnt believe hitting 240 is possible no matter how many cars there are in the UK hitting it. As he says "only in the UK".

A dyno is a dyno....and UK dynos are "special" *g* (Ask around the rest of the world, you wont find such numbers like in UK anywhere else, well maybe portugal...)

Thats nice, you know i make nearly the same expierience with "only" 218hp, but my car is a little lighter from wheight.

i dont see why you meantion lambda sensor readings also as my car does not have a lambda sensor

I also dont have lambda sensor, its a extra for dyno which is mounted in the exhaust tip to measure lambda while the dyno run....

Wrong. Horsepowers is the dark red line, its actually quite smooth

torque also kickes in too quickly, i guess this would smoke like nothing normal.

400Nm@ 2000revs is actually to less from what race injectors could do, its limited in mapping down low (the ORANGE line)

my power starts to kick in at 2500 and 90% power at 3100 RPM and 100% at 3700 aswell as an extra stretch kick at 4400. with power going right up to 5100 RPM.

Did you ever look how the PD system is working? And what happens with combustion at high rev levels? No?
Well I tell you: The higher you rev, the more ignition delay is created, that means, that the combustions process is retarded with every extra rev...
And as a little extra: The PD system was created for trucks and big diesel engines, also inthe "small" sized passenger cars they are not designed to rev high. 8Thats why I for my part try to get the max. power as early as possible in rev-band, this has the benefit not to overstress the turbo with high boost combined with high revs....

not saying that this is what you should try, with me not being an expert, but why dont you try delaying the map setting so it starts boosting at 2000 instead of 1500. plus having that power start so early can only cause wear to the clutch.

I, and several others tried to get big power over high revs in a PD engine. Even with a hybrid turbo, its not working out fine in terms of durability.

try that out mate and see what you fine. i actually dont know what this might do so please try it if you can :)

I did. After 2 burst compressor wheels, i stopped to try to make high boost at high revs.

another thing i want to know is can you retard your injection timing? apparently my fuel injection was retarded by 1.5 degrees.

With "only" 1.5 degreees of retarded SOI (Start of injection) you end up injecting the fuel PAST TDC where it does nothing more for your power.

For example: In the file I made for the dyno today i have retarded SOI more than 3 degrees and made the end of injection at 6 degrees instead of OEM 4 °.

(OEM in ASZ is 22.5/4)

But thank you anyway for your help how to tune my car*g*

alex, try to understand that this needs to stop, alot of members on SCN im sure are getting annoyed with this continued dismissle of everything they have try to achieve by yourself

its not every day that WE the people have a chance to own there very own dyno setup and tuning programs.

i myself personally regret doing anything to the car, because others cant, wont and will never believe it.

I dont care one bit anymore. the ibiza's parked up as previously meantion.

and im driving a jetta. let this rest will you

TDI club of america need yourself on it more than me

The idea of having the air ride is to lower it when stationary and raise it when driving, then lift it near top when going over bumpy terrain.

This is not a car or a joy riders car thats being abused when given the chance, i respect and i really like my car so it wont be scraping the side skirts given the chance.

lol the air ride is for the jetta, not the ibiza and believe me the handling isnt great to start with :)

the bottom arms are getting replaced soon enough and at £9 a side, why not :)

well see how it handles around corners but i wont be taking corners hard

perfect example..... i drove at 35 mph on the way home down the dual carriage home for 6 miles...............................whats happening to me :O

Hi mate did you just use a second hand turbo, and send it off to turbo dynamics, I may have found a tdi 150bhp turbo of a golf gt tdi,(engine code arl 150bhp). Its done 72,000 miles and i think its in good condition. I'm just asking as i'm slightly worried about the reliability, but when its been hybrid it'll be a like a new one ? won't it. Ive been put off buying a new one and getting it hybrid as its very expensive. Cheers mate, hows the car going?

Yea mate by all means! go for it. unless the turbo has been damaged physically E.G chunk missing from it! send it away to get the treatment!

Awk the ibiza's grand. i started it 3 days ago and took it a very quick sail up the road!

I forgot how fast and quick the car was, it wants to make me put it back on the road as my No 1 daily car! but neigh. all good things come to an end! im going to sell the car soon i guess to someone else who can appricate it as much as I can! as i drive my jetta atm

I dyno'd the car as shown 2 post up last month to yet again prove others wrong,

233.6 bhp
343.6 ib/ft

after sitting in my shed for 4 months then 5 miles down the road and dyno'd!
