Never clayed duuuude if you love a smooth car you are in for a treat, but don't get too aggressive clay and only maybe 3 times a year. I take it you are on detailing world forum I went on there a year ago and my car cleaning methods changed quite a bit as I learnt alot. I also spent alot too!

well never really needed to clay...as had car from almost new (sub 5k on clock) and clean it every week without fail so always remains clean...but this megs polish and sealant and cleaner is something else....looking at getting a better top sealant as well..

i'll have a look at detailing world later

cheers for the heads up

Maybe stick with windscreen and tyres then!!!! Wind deflectors can wait a month or two.

my thoughts exactly...but only 20 odd quid so may be an option....but i like the look of the forge rear strut...what u reckon? Worth it? its about 80 quid with postage

Looks mint fella!

I know you say you dont need to clay bar cos you've owned the car since nearly new and washed it and stuff every week, but I do the same with my R32. I wash it every week:

Snowfoam;
Wash;
Rinse;
Wash again;
Dry;
Auto Glym HD wax every other week.

But I clayed mine last week and the difference it made was incredible! The paint is silky smooth now. It's amazing how many contaminents can get on the paint, and not come off with just a wash and wax! I'd highly recommend claying maybe once a month. It does make a huge difference and you'll be surprised how much crap you can feel when rubbing the clay over the body work!

Keep up the shiny shiny! And try Auto Glym HD wax when your Megs runs out. I used to use Megs until I found HD wax..... :)

Until you've clayed, you'll never understand how good it is. :p

I'd say once a month is a little excessive, maybe 2 or 3 times a year. But that's just my opinion.

The car looks great, keep up the good work.

All depends on the mileage you do I suppose. I mean, I've done 5000 miles in 3 months. So mine's out and about all the time. And I've only clayed mine twice since I got it in Feb. So I suppose I'm still taking off existing contaminents. So yes you're right, do it a few times a year once you're on top of it and it should be fine. :)

cheers mate....the paint work feels like glass now...but the back..above the milltek (haha) feels quite matt compared to rest...presume this is soot/tar etc...so will clay next time i do the proper 3 stage megs treatment!

Do you use high resin polish from auto glym as well. Is the HD wax really good then? could you use this on top of the megs gold wax? or is it an either or?

I have never snow foamed...as dont have a lance. I may invest if its worth it.

It will feel smooth as you are just layering more products over it really. I would never polish and wax without claying first that is why I can't understand people who say they was and polish every couple of week. I think the be doing something wrong it they need to do it that much wax should stay on for months if applied properly. Detailing world also led me away from Megs stuff, I still use some but discovered some that are better value for money. Gonna take the plunge and buy a machine polisher end of the Summer and then have to learn even more. I busy from cleanyourcar.com you build up loyalty point that are turned into cash too which is a bonus and they sell alot more professional products can't get half the decent stuff in Halfords. No I do not work for them I wish!

woah!....ok...im not an expett at all...just bought a few bits i thought were good value/quality. also i dont polish every week...maybe every month if not longer...car gets washed every week as i do considerable miles so lots of soot/dirt etc...but the car still feels smooth after that wash as it does when i polish and wax (if that makes sense)...just enjoy putting in the hours to make the car shine and feel better....

never clayed as never really heard of it and how to use it...bit scared of trying something new maybe :shrug: What products do you reccomend then? Have got a bit of advice off a few friends but not really up-to-date with all the products and techniques..maybe i should join detailing world.

I do like the Forge rear strut barce but I'm not sure what benefits it will bring in reality. The rear ARB made a huge difference, I'm thinking this might be more subtle. Not very practical if you need to get loads of camping kit or mountain bike in the boot either!

I use the HD wax as a top coat sort of thing. Like the last time I washed my car, I used Autosmart Silverseal Paint Protector on the paint first, then used the HD wax on top. I use it to seal it all in if that makes sense. It's a really hard wearing wax. Most waxes tend to wash off after one wash, maybe two. This stuff stays on for like 4 washes, maybe more? And I've never seen ANY other wax bead like this stuff does! So yeh! Maybe give it a go? It's expensive from Halfords or whatever. But either buy it off ebay or give me a shout and I can get you some. :)

Put some Autoglym extra gloss protection on after the HD wax if you don't already... that really should leave you purring over the finish!
