Fair play to you, If I was doing what you are id try and keep it quiet too. I'm gona guess you're going for the 270-300bhp mark then? Good luck with it![]()
From the mods listed above, unless theres more that hasn;t been listed, then it'll be more on the low side of your figures.
Uzi - If you want some design drawings and photos of an exhaust manifold and intake pipe to suit the 3.0l turbo, I'm your man![]()
O and when you're rebuilding the engine what are you putting in? I would of thought while you're there you'll have all new bearings, rings, etc, but you getting different con-rods? pistons uprated head gasket (running so much boost)? or are the standard items up to the job? I'm looking forward to see how this project goes, always good when someone goes for more, than what has already been done, good on you.
Uzi_Cupra i read all u story and is amazing, nice job...![]()
to be honest george the diesel block in the car is very good, its good for some serious power. my plan is to change what needs to be changed. e.g. if something i come across is not worn away or damaged then there is no need to replace it. yes some of the things mentioned will be uprated but as i said cant give everything away. the main limitations are getting the power down, so as long as the bottom end is built well, i.e with my uprated clutch and a limited slip diff then im all good. not long before i start the job now, most probably have the engine out on monday (couldnt start it this week because i had too much on) and start strippingill be sure to have a full write up and try and do as many "HOW TO" guides so everyone can do some jobs themselves.
Are you going to get rid of the MAF all together because the 2260vk will easily boost beyond what the MAF can read? I am assuming your going for rosten rods? Have you considered going for bigger pistons also from the 2.0ltr lump?
good luck mate, its reasurring to know the block, and internals are good for all that power, and torque, I'll be happy with 210-220bhp when mine is all done, just need to get the clutch and fit it, but £849.00 is alot for a clutch in my opinion, when I can get a full kit minus a flywheel for a scania p420 truck, for less than half of that! ahh well.
u changed the engine? al have you old tdi engine ahah
