I remembered my car had the flashy oil pressure light came on and i took it to the Arnold Clark Seat, their service was some what "hmmmm." was at the dealer for 40mins and the lady said that "you have a high performance engine, need keep an eye on the oil level but it has been topped up." when i went to my car looks like the car hasn't been touched but oh well. But anyway i don't take my car to Arnold Clark Seat. I take it to my dealer where i bought my car from! There service is amazing, just so helpful! I've been in few times for minor stuff and the chirp noise. My car is going in next week to get the water pump replaced (week before my car got serviced and told them to check the noise chirp)! Everything was sorted down the phone, i didn't even ask for a courtesy car but they gave me one, that's what i call amazing service!

Just picked the car up. It's running fine now they said they changed a few pistons and taped some wire up I'm not feeling too good so didn't take too much of it in sorry guys didn't cost anything though and they cleaned it inside and out which is a bonus

after my car came out it appeared to be fine for 1-2 weeks but the problems came back even though they said they changed the engine... hope yours stays good CHRIIS

Glad to hear its working now CHRIIS. Mines gone in this morning again and this time im pleased to say they loaned me a ibiza 1.2 with only 200 miles on the clock (although it does sound like a tractor! lol). I told them about all the other experiences on here but they still said we will only check what the computer tells us to, which is pretty annoying!

mines is going in on wednesday hopefully to get fixed once and for all, the gm of arnold clark seat is gonna watch over it ( so he says ) this is there 5th go at fixing it :(

Ive been getting this problem for a while now... epc + oil pressure light.
My car has had a new engine and new injectors plus whatever minor parts they have put in to try and solve the problem but still I have these lights come on and a lack of power, I got given my car by my dad for passing my test in july yet the car has been in 4 to 5 times now for a total of around 3 weeks. Recently there has been a smell of petrol inside the car when idling too through the air con and we have been to trading standards about these problems and the way we have been treated. Seat said they are not willing to accept the car back for these problems but the GM of Arnold Clark seat has spoke to my dad and he says he is personally going to see my car gets fixed once and for all, so if i find out what is wrong then ill post it on here to help you guys :) goodluck

out of interest, what Arnold Clark are you using?

Linwood mate :( what about you ?

yeah Linwood are pretty good tbh. They sorted my car many times for loads of annoying creaks and knocks. The head tech in there is really good, always picks up on the tinest of faults. They even did warranty work on the suspension of my car even though i had changed to an aftermarket kit. The service is only good because its part of the VW garage though, but thats just my opinion. Avoid Bickets in Killie at all costs - seriously bad dealer!!, AC in Glasgow is'nt too hot either (i have been round them all lol!) Hope you get your problems sorted out as i know how you feel with having problem after problem and it can get depressing after a while

Maybe i have been lucky then! generally, AC get a terrible reputation and i still hate them for how they treated me at there vauxhall gargage in glasgow, totally ripped me off [:@] If your not happy, why not give Seat Uk a call and ask to speak to somebody in managment no offence to them but a normal call centre worker will get you knowhere as they dont have any decision making powers. Failing that just give the technician a good rollocking!

bad times :( is your car a 1.4 tsi? what age are you if you dont mind me asking?

An update for anyone who was following this. Surprise surprise the garage have diagnosed that it's a problem with the injectors that has caused the cylinders to become screwed which will probably result in a new engine. This is a similar story to a lot of others on here. I really hope it was only 1 dodgy batch of injectors and this isn't a recurring problem!

This all sounds very familiar!!

I have had a new engine and god knows what else. my car is currently working, but highly doubt its been fixed. I intend to swop it for an ibiza FR 2.0 TDI.

When my injectors were swopped they put a new set of the faulty ones back in, They are known for the metal gauze to break up. At a later stage metal contaminents were found in my fuel......

Seems that there is a problem with the 1.4TSI engine as there are a few cases of this.

Anyone intrested to what happend/is happenintg with mine can see here: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=287672

Just popping in from the uk-mkivs. I have the same thing on my mk6 Golf. Got the car Revo'd back in March - since then I've had a very occasional ( ie 5 ) cases of a drop in power at 3200-3500rpm then the EML flashes for 5-10 seconds and goes off.

Yesterday, the car went for it's first service and the ECU was updated. They test drove it after and found that the car would hardly run but no fault codes.

New coil packs today but no change. I asked about injectors and was told " well they're £165 each sir ".

I didn't understand - the car is 11months old, cost £25k and is under warranty. £165 per injector is irrelevant..

Not happy...

Hi Damian,
Yea that sounds very similar to my problem.
You need to push your garage as price of the part shouldn't really be a consideration.
You have a warranty end of!
Most cases on here starts with the injector problem so it's really worth checking out.
Still no word from my garage other than they are once again checking with Seat, which I think means asking for a new engine! :)

I'm waiting til Monday as they " can't just chane them without diagnosis".

When I went to VW this morning, my car is covered in bird poo so I had a go at them as it wasn't when I left it on Thursday. Told them to wash it immediately and if the paint is "burnt" then I'm going to kick off big time..
