Hmm not sure I'm willing to part with £90 for a tool kit when in reality I have no idea about anything to do with cars and will probably get used once and 75% of the pieces will get lost within 6 months.

Halfords tools are good
But take the lifetime warranty with a pinch of salt!

The metal switch (to turn from clockwise to anti-clockwise) on my 3/8 ratchet broke, so went in store, said look at this it broke
He said:
1) you need a receipt, to show you own it, as people buy them second hand from ebay
2) we don't cover moving parts

My replies
1) lifetime warranty shouldn't matter where it was from, as it was still purchased by someone!
2) its not a moving part, it just selects what direction, technically a spanner is a moving part then?

He told me no, tried another store, said #1 to me again
I bought it 2 years ago FFS! [:@]

Ratchet mechanisms aren't covered Suj says it in the small print somewhere. As for having the receipt it's fair enough for them to ask for it.

You can buy repair kits for the rachet Suj.
When i took my rachet into Halfords the guy just came out with a new one and swapped it over !
