300lb-ft on standard rods is the 'limit'? think again.

Iam going to have to change my driving style as I have come from a civic type r and you could rag the life out of it and no problems what so ever guaranteed!!

How long you had your car with the stage 1 map

They're getting on a bit now, I changed mine for safety. If you dont want to change rods, drive gently and not at full boost.

This car had the map on for 5 years. But even so it was still a 'gentle' map.

Plenty of folk with significantly higher figures than that drive hard with no issues, but similarly there have been others with relatively modest maps who've had issues too, it is partly down to luck.

Just don't go flooring it in the middle or high gears from lowish RPM, feed the throttle in a little. These cars respond better like that anyway. It's also not just to do with peak torque figure (up to a point), as csd_19 says that's safe enough so long as it's not too low down the rev range. My Revo stage 1 boost and torque curves are not really any steeper than OEM, they just continue climbing for a bit longer as RPM increases. This makes it a bit easier on the hardware.

Ther is even std cars that have thrown rods, unlucky maybe?
as has been said previously you need to be gentle and not just floor it from the off everytime,

lads.
reading through this thread, the only way to know if your rods are fooked is if you do a compression test?

so how much would a set of new robs n cost labour?

may as well get it done

cheers
