Yeah that's the one, it came as part of the lower rebuild kit from INA i am going to get the OE one from Sere. You may want to look at the cam belt tensioner as well Graham apparently its a known problem according to Bill.

I assume the seal you are on about is the lip seal inset the ali plate

No its the crank seal which is part of a large ali bit, which fits around the crank.

Thats the one im on about, the seal looked to be a lip seal built in the plate
I think we had already spoke about this possibly being damaged when installed

Well i had a good day at Bills yesterday although the figures where not what i was hoping for but they are all the turbo is capable of. SO i have done a deal for a GT2871R which will see me over 300 which is what i wanted. I will now be selling the Hybrid GT2X along with the Frankenturbo hi flow exhaust mani and the 3" down pipe and pipercross exhaust system, the turbo was rebuilt and hybrid work done 12 months ago by CRTurbos so its a good bit of kit for someone wanting a bolt on replacement for their Ko3.
The final figures where 280bhp and 260 Lbft, which is a bit less than it did on P-torque's rollers at 294bhp and 310Lbft but that's the Dino lottery for you .

Well its been another busy weekend, the engine has come out and the leaking oil seal replaced, i also dropped the sump to clean out any crap but it was nice and clean, the sump plug had a bit of swarf on it but thats to be expected, so she has now got an engine full of fully synthetic but not enough power steering fluid so as soon as the shops open tomorrow i will be topping it up and going for a blast. I also decided to change the colour of the cam cover and the intake mani, i didn't like the yellow so i have reverted to my original idea of the crinkle black, i think it looks so much better,i picked up the porsche oil and water caps at inters which i ahve now fitted, i also removed the swirl pot and fitted the remaining ss hose clamps so the bay is 99.9% finished.

I had to shelve the GT2871R as after sending it to CRTurbos for a look over they found that the exhaust turbine had some of the vanes missing, the housing was cracked and the bearing cartrige had got very hot, so for the sake af £20 i think it was worth sending it away, so still on the look out for something a little better than the GT2X but there's no rush.

They didn't they told me i needed a new turbo, and kindly offered me one for £900, when i asked about the seperate parts they said it would be roughly the same price LOL, it wasnt my turbo though and i gave it back.

I'm going to have a chat to turbo dynamics and i have seen the GTX upgrade cartridges from garrett at £600
Once sorted i'm going to put the kit up on a few forums as the downpipe has been changed to suit 4wd prop

i was told garret only did chra on exchange now.. as I wanted a new turbine wheel for my gt35 (spare) but was told not available... be great if that was'nt true
