Hi guys just bought a 1.8t cupra 180bhp and just wanted some first mods advice.

Things I was thinking and reading about:

Exhuast (where to buy and brand)
TIP (where to buy and brand)
Air filter to suit TIP (where to buy and brand)

And that's all for the moment and if there's anything else you can advise about that would improve the car would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yeh had a look at the cobra exhuast on eBay for £335 I want it resonated lol

Tip I am defo stuck with this because I can find loads of them for the ko4 cupra r 225
turbos but not my ko3s 180bhl turbo. I can find them but I duno which make is the best and what air filter I would need to match you see.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what is a TIP?

Haha mate I had had same problem I googled it for ages because this is my first turbo car. But it turbo intake pipe. It's the pipe that goes from your mass air flow sensor to the turbo inlet.

It allows more air because of the smooth design and make the turbo sound nicer and improves a few things.

Thanks lads!

I got a MK1 Leon Cupra 180 as well it's my first turbo car too :p

I have the cobra exhaust and a ramair foam induction filter, bought an oil breather filter too for the small re breather pipe thing

Badger don't do one for a K03 turbo (LC 180s). The best one to get is an SFS oversize one from ramair, nightmare to fit but will give better performance gains than the normal size SFS one or the Forge one. That said a normal SFS one or Forge one will still be a lot better than the standard one.

None of those mods will give you any meaningful power gains on their own without a remap.

Why not just get a stage 1 remap and take it straight up to 210hp? Advisable to change the recirc valve to a Forge 007 or 008, and replace the N75 valve as they are prone too failure.

Your proposed mods are more like preparation for a stage 2.

Would it matter if i was to buy those mods such as open cone filter exhaust etc and then get it remapped straight to stage 2? or does it have to be standard for a stage 1 map then modify and move onto stage 2?

Sorry if this is a dumb question this is my first turbo car and i'm not mechanically knowledgeable :(

Yep, you can go straight to stage 2 when you have all the mods.
