Got my Technic Grey 184 on Friday and after my first weekend with it i can safely say i absolutely love it to bits! Fast as hell and such an upgrade over a 51 plate 1.2 Clio :rofl:

Welcome to 184 ownership. Got mine Saturday. I haven't quite got the upgrade in performance as you coming from a 140 Golf. However the Leon is quieter, sounds far less diesel, and feels slower, until you look at the speedo!

ACC is heaps of fun when it decides to keep tracking the vehicle that was in front of you but has moved out of your lane and begun slowing down - and slows you car too even though your lane is now clear. it's a fun game .. avoiding being rear-ended :)

Glad I chose to drive my car myself.

Ha! I hear you about the speedo ... this car is so stable at speed, it's extremely deceptive. My license feels nervous!

Ive had to put the digital speedo on the little screen permanently because i dont trust the normal one, it flies up at a ridiculous rate haha

Actually .. I went for the white (solid), as I liked the black of the grills standing out against the white. Didnt really like the metallic white, it looked duller than the solid ... but then, if we all had the same colours, it would be a bit boring :)

I am also impressed on the performance of the 184 .. but also, how sure footed the front is ... I really can hammer it into corners, and it just sticks ... so much confidence

There's not a plethora of tight bends around me and ive not really had to confidence to give it some round any corners yet, i think on my way home today i might treat it to a bit of pacey cornering.
It does feel incredibly nimble, on my way to work there are 2 small roundabouts that you can fly through with a quick flick in either direction and the Leon absolutely murders them. I forget im in a car twice the size of my old clio!

I live near the Brecon Beacons, and there are some superb roads, that are used heavily by motorbikes for pushing them, which allow you to see what is coming from over a mile away ... so you can white line the corner, and really push on hard

So far .. have not been let down by it ... and scared some of my mates, with them not realising how this thing sticks to the road. It must be the multi-suspension on the 184 thats helps

Agreed - absolutely amazing grip. The tricky diff is just fantastic. Was really hammering along last night on the twisty stuff, and was getting much more confident the more twists and turns I encountered. Of course, the Bridgestones play their part too!

Appreciate that, cheers. Took long enough to decide when I first ordered it, and spent the next 10 weeks wondering if I chose the right colour ... !

How about you, did you know before you ordered it, or was it a decision based on what you saw in the dealership?

Anyone coming to the 184 fr after driving the 170cr engine? Just wondering how much better it is.

I have Octavia vrs 170 at the moment but went for the Leon cupra st rather than the fr as didn't think it would be a massive step up, but it sounds like it is.....
