Well read the link below here.

Controversial indeed, as I think the posts here have demonstrated. The article bears out something I was aware of, which is that modern engines are manufactured to much finer tolerances than in the past, and that is the main reason for not having to run-in so much. Besides, when did you last see an F1 car running-in

Got a bit too excited on my first weekend with 184 and spanked it a few times, gonna have to calm it down a bit now, luckily im back at work so it can rest in the traffic haha

Don't quote me but I suspect they do that in the garage back at hq?

My Cupra has been confirmed build week 20 ( Dont know what this week is!! ). So should get it end of June on schedule!!!!

The Sub8 brakes are not going unnoticed though!! If I get a chance I'll post better pictures.

The amount of people I have had come up to me saying "Jesus those brakes are huge!" is quite funny.
Truth be told I wasn't sure I'd like the wheels but as soon as I saw them in the flesh I fell in love.

They're massive indeed! In just 12k I've gone through 70% of my front pads!

They're certainly excellent stoppers, though.

Just done my first track day and super impressed. Brakes (and engine) took it in their stride - and all day on only half a tank of fuel!! Amazing. Here's a pic in its natural habitat....

I've just ordered a new SC Cupra 280 manual in monsoon grey, a bit surprised I've got to wait so long but should hopefully have the car in November :)

Ordered mine over two weeks ago and still not heard even when they think it might get built let alone when I may get it!

What kind of prices did you end up paying?

Just really curious, DTD is saying up to a £6k saving off a specced model. Interested to know if that's reflected with the dealers directly.

I paid 26,900 for a Cupra St in monsoon grey with black pack, sunroof, leather, sound pack. Can't wait....was looking at new VRS Before I found the seat was much cheaper! That was through DTD though. Carwow was about £1k more.

Ordered Monsoon Grey 5 door 280 with winter pack and sunroof on last day of March, got told within a week it was Build Week 20 and have since been told build week confirmed so it should have been built this week.

I ordered standard wheels and standard seats so it looks like the wheel and seat issues are hopefully gone.

I found dealers very unwilling to move much on price - until after I had told them I wasn't buying from them (got it at much better discount from a finance company - Auto Union Finance). Then all of a sudden is was almost "what price are you willing to pay?" !!!! Too late then....
