Hi All,

Ive just placed an order for the following spec'd car:

Leon FR 184 DSG 5Dr
Alor Blue
18" Performance Alloys
Winter Pack
Seat Sound Pack
Alcantara/Leather
Safety Pack
Navigation Pack - High

--

Dealer is saying around 8-12 weeks for delivery due to a factory order, however the deal was only completed today so could be soon/later - exciting times! I guess I will then have to choose to pick it up on a 65 plate or wait out for 16 plate!

Current car is an A3 S-Line 150 TDi manual with a few goodies including:
B&O Speakers (I think ill miss this option the most), Panoramic Roof, Folding Mirrors, SD-Sat Nav.

Has anyone compared the A3 to the Leon? Any thoughts? Im not overly impressed with the A3 to be brutally honest, its 3 years and while its not given me any mechanical issues its had lots of rattles from the roof and doors, they also botched my SD sat-nav install, I wouldn't say the MMI system is that good either.

Any mods people would recommend? Ive looked over the screen washer mod and I will most definitely replace the 'normal' washers, the A3 has the same type and they are rubbish! the only other thing I'm thinking is maybe dropping it by 30mm.

Hi

I've just ordered a Leon FR EcoTSI 150 DSG:
Mediterranean Blue
Tech Pack
Winter Pack
Convenience Pack
Full Link

Factory order. Was quoted 6-7 weeks and have just been given a week 5 (first week of Feb) build date.

Also currently have an Audi A3, although an older 2008 SE 140 DSG. It's been a good car for the last 134,000 miles. Has needed suspension work, aircon fix and cam belt etc.

I never understand why anyone would intentionally lower a car, but then I lived with a TVR which was so low it was a nightmare over speed-humps or ferry ramps (good on the track though ;) ). Still, it was a brilliant experience and my most reliable car!

Another Alor blue.... :D
Well, it does look fantastic...

.. unfortunately it is really expensive to change the colour on a lease. Extra kit was a lot, lot less. Besides mediterranean blue is going to be exclusive on here, as everyone else upgrades :D

Yeah do love my Alor Blue but really interested to see pics of the Med blue!!

Some advice for everyone on this thread…

You picked the wrong blue

Really like Alor blue in the metal. I used to think it was only Emocion red that looked good on the SC, 5Dr and ST but Alor blue just might too…..

I recommend changing to fan style washer jets and fitting decent wipers, I found the OEM wipers a bit noisy so changed to Valeo items.

+1 I recently replaced all wipers to Bosch aeroblades (which I thought were OEM?). Anyway, it's made a huge difference.

I need to do the fan jet swap too.

Thanks guys.

I'll look into getting the wipers and washer jets in time for when it arrives.

Also worth noting i currently have a DTUK CRD-T+ box on my A3, its having a few issues at the moment so thats going to go back to be checked out and re-prgramed for the 184 DSG too, so that will be on the car as well.

I was gonna recommend a DTUK box. I have one on my 184 and it transforms the car

Yeah, as i said it has a few issues with my A3, so hopefully they can find some issues or the issues will magically disappear when I get the new car.

Issues include:
flashing coil light
ECU errors indicating fuel pressure too high/turbo charger malfunctions.
Car cuts out on various occasions and won't re-start until the box is removed.

They don't happen when the box isn't on the car, also tried numerous settings on the CDR-T+ (all of them). Also tried various fuels from various suppliers, seems to run a bit better on Shell Nitro+ but still get errors.

Ben.

Hi, I have just ordered a Leon SC FR 1.4 Eco Tsi 150
Ice Silver
Tech pack
Convenience Pack
Panoramic roof
Spare wheel

Thought long and hard about the Alor/Apollo Blue, but have a long past history with Silver (apart from the last 2 Leon's both Emocion red and lovely). Saw both the blues and a silver at the dealer....must admit the silver looked smart/classy and will look great with the roof.
No build date yet and I see the times are not that long at the moment (12 weeks for my last one), but hope it will be able to take a 16 plate.
Will post pics on arrival !

Well to cheer you up...
I've got 2014 1.8TSi manual with option list longer than china wall....
Doors will rattle, but they are easy to DIY to get a lot more from the Seat Soundsystem.
Panoramic roof will make sounds sometimes, but easy to wipe with grease remover over the seals.
And after apr stg1 it will give Cupra290 ST DSG run for its money, atleast from rolling start, Cupra does not keep up from 50-200kmh

Sounds great, looking forward to seeing them. Glad you are loving the motor. Have some great locations near me on the Clyde for some photos so will post when delivered and sorted

My 2013 Audi A3 rattles from both doors, I have rattles from the panoramic roof too - that's kind of why I've gone for the Leon. I love the a3 saloons, but price wise, I just can't justify another audi. they certainly don't seem like the flagship company in the group. Techs don't seem to actually fix anything, dealers ain't all that great, mmi system is very out dated now (no apple car play in the a3). Build quality is, err. Naff. Only positive in the a3 I can say is the bang and olufsen sound system is simply amazing - it will be missed!

Interesting, as my 2007 A3 has now done 124,000 and has no rattles at all. Interior still feels new.

The Leon was supposed to replace it, but now it's going to replace my wife's Nissan instead - she'll get the Audi, I'll get the SEAT. :)

the FRs already lower and stiffer than standard car. 18s will stiffen it even more. Dropping it 30mm would make it as comfy as a skateboard....

I'll see how it is when I get mine, Im guessing it would be similar to my Audi A3 S-Line though...

Question: Does anyone know how long it normally takes to get a build date?

Car ordered on the 7th - still no build date at the moment - normal?

Thanks,
