Here another question, who do you guys use for insurance cover? Specialist or off the shelf 'compare the market' types?

I used Adrian Flux for the insurance on my Mazda RX-8, but have now changed to Direct Line for the 300.

Thanks, i tried compare the market and got mostly high £300 for the year. Tried Hastings Direct (home insurance provider) and got £1100! Haven't seen numbers like that since i was 19!

Will try direct line - they have been good in the past, but annoyingly not on the comparison sites. Also trying Chris Knotts who sponsors this forum so waiting for a call back.

Yes that makes sense - i think its probably more along the lines of i want to be the one to thrash it and not the stealers! ;)

Yeah I'm not holding out for any fuel in the tank - i will be mad if there is more than 20 miles on the clock as the dealer compound is behind the showroom.

Mine had 19 miles on it last week, and also dash cam footage of when they took it for fuel,no real ragging of it caught on film !

They put ESSO Synergy Supreme 97 RON in it, but only 100 miles worth.

BP Ultimate is 98 RON and Shell V power is 99 RON

Currently running on the Shell V Power.

I have to admit, I can’t disagree with you about it being a perfectly capable car in comfort mode - plus I’m 35 with wife and child so also not a boy racer hooning chavtastic badbwoy. Thing is, it’s a genuine hot hatch and nothing like your previous C63 AMG (I’ve guessed that from 510bhp V8 btw).
My workmates have both got the 184bhp FR and for everyday driving its more than fast enough up to national speed limits – the same safe limits that you’ll stick to with wife and kids in the car. I was very, very surprised with how much mid-range punch they have to overtake and how quick they feel.
The steering is less heavy, the suspension is more rounded-off and it has plenty of grip without the need for the VAQ electronic limited slip diff. This sounds more like what you actually needed if you’ll drive the 300 in comfort mode all day long. To me, it’s like buying a Canon 5D camera and shooting in Auto mode like a point and shoot. I’m sorry if this comes across as ranty, sarcastic or rude – it really isn’t supposed to be.

No it's fine...

It was a Jag XFR but I suppose similar to a C63.

I'm a proper petrol head, I love cars, always have.. a diesel does nothing for me, I had a 335d years back and it was just disappointing, it was capable but really dull. They have reasonable pull for 1000rpm mid range but they're no quicker than any other car with 184hp, there's no way I could live with that, and the sound and no rev range etc.

I finish work at 6am and drive home fast in the Leon, I use it properly! But it really does it's best in comfort on the bumpy B roads, it's quicker at all points than a mates 335d xdrive in the wet. I'm certain on track the Cupra mode will be great, but it's not for me on the road.

Hi guys, finally picked up mine on Saturday from Southampton. Such a fantastic piece of machinery... puts a smile on my face every time I look at it, drive it, accelerate... Not so much when I go over bumps or potholes, but hey, it was to be expected :)

However, first problem after nearly 200 miles - front left tyre pressure loss warning. Checked it and it was nearly flat. Fixed it, went flat again after 10 miles. Repeated the action a few times, got home, went to check it, nothing - no puncture, no nothing. Just a lot of rubber. After putting back together, it did not went flat again - I am guessing either it was incorrectly fitted on the rim or a pothole / bump caused the issue. Had to buy a new tyre....

Which blue is this - the solid or metallic? Looks way better than I would expect it to in the flesh. Think you've made a good colour choice there mate.

That was nice of them, mine have also honoured the tax increase too so paying the same deposit and monthly as agreed when ordered in Feb.

Heres hoping for some fuel too - did they let you have V Power or Tesco 99? ;)

Mine had about half tank and I used Shell V Power. Range is about 350 miles and average consumption after the first 300 is 9.2 l/100 km (roughly 30 mpg).

I've wanted to go through comparison websites, but I was getting only 800+, so I decided to check Direct Line (and Churchill, as they are basically the same company). Got it for 700, without any voluntary excess.

It's the Mystery Blue - it seems they only have metallic colours for the Cupra. I think you're right, it looks much better than I was expecting. However, as somebody mentioned a few pages back, dust is very visible.

Yeah, so Chris Knotts have come out the cheapest and best value. Quoting £390 with protected no claims (5yrs) and legal cover or £365 unprotected. They are underwritten by a insurance company called ERS who seem to be very mod/performance car friendly.

Here's the beast. Really happy with the drive so far. I've had to give it the beans already and his thing pulls, wheel spins up to 3rd if you absolutely floor it. When not driving like a complete fool in cupra mode, I was surprised how smooth a ride it is. I'm coming from a 2014 BMW 120d M sport, the ride in that was bumpy as hell, glad to see the back of it to be honest for that reason alone.

Space wise I've got 2 kids, they've got plenty of leg room so happy with that.

I've got a Samsung galaxy s7, Android auto works well with maps, phone but it just doesn't like spotify, won't connect for some reason will try again in the morning.

Overall I'm very impressed. It was a close call between this an s3 or a golf. Options wise this came out better with its standard spec compared to the others and that was a big factor in my decision.

Looking forward to notching up the miles!

Pick my red cupra 300 5 door up in 5 weeks. Needs to hurry up!
Salesman said it's being built next week. Is it really 4 weeks to make it over from Spain to here?

Mine took 5 days to get on the ferry, then 12 days on the ferry as it can go via France , Belgium and Holland.
It then sat at the docks for 12 days as Seat have issues with getting the cars to the dealers at the moment
