Did a little test over the past few weeks. Filled the tank up with da good stuff, reset the counter....now sat at a quarter of a tank and 160 mile ticked over.

Not sure if anyone read but I have a funny issue with my car...maf plugged or unplugged it won't bring up the eml. Thought to myself....last owner covered it up...but no...the eml works. Unplugged maf brings no codes no lights.

Also with the traction control....the last Cupra I had when she went to spin up she would cut power pretty hard...this one doesn't....it's gentle and let's it spin but reduced power levels like it's trying to slow it Down but not so harsh. How does your tc work? Harsh or nicely nicely

Made new front centre grill as it was IMPOSSIBLE to find a cupra r grill second hand.

Looks like the radiator is the cause of my leak, no obvious signs on any of the hoses but a pink/white crust on the front most under tray clips and then again around the frame under the rad housing. I'll get it booked in as I hold my hands up and say that job is beyond me.

On a brighter note I gave the old girl another MrMuscle clean on the cast iron side of the turbo and freed up the actuator arm and she's got more zip back again.

Just had todo a puncher repair on the offside front wheel and while it was on the ramp my steering rack has got a big leak so it looks like that’s the next thing todo as well as two new tyres rain sport 3 on order

Fitted the new engine cover insulation last week, and spent half the day under the car today doing the oil change. The sump plug was tighter than a ************. Not the best when I don't exactly have a lot of room to move around. Getting the undertray back on was probably the hardest part. Struggling to get the filter tight though - chain tool doesn't seem to want to grip.

There's a thread in the offside wheel arch where the bolt for the undertray sides goes. It's been missing for a long time (not me) but does anyone know what size nut I'm going to need for it?

You tighten oil filters by hand then typicly half a turn. Even on hgv they are 35nm

I've just put in an order for one. Luckily my Halfords is only fifteen minutes' walk away. Thanks for this!

You tighten oil filters by hand then typicly half a turn. Even on hgv they are 35nm

Once I get the proper tool on it, I'll take it out and make sure the threads are really clean before trying again - it feels pretty stiff and I definitely can't get it finger tight. I never usually cross-thread things, but I was getting stressed out by the undertray, so that might explain things.

If it’s sticking down where the the side cover attaches then it’s just a spring nut thingy.
If it’s a threaded hole then it’ll be the same as the other screws

That's the one - it's a thread sticking out of the top of the wheel arch.

EDIT: What came up in my google search was the clip you screw the Torx screws into. I'm still researching...

The VW spring nut is pushed onto the thread sticking down only after you fix the cover over the tread first.
Put the spring nut on the thread concave side first and push it firmly in place.

Brilliant - thanks so much for this. I've just put in an order for some - with any luck they'll arrive before I drive to the Netherlands.

I had the side panels removed a few years back after the undertray decided to pick up a ton of weeds driving through a Ford, but when I had it re-installed they obviously didn't have the right parts and of course, they bodged it.

Fit two new rain sport 3 tyres to the front and did the tracking and also had to wash bird poo off the rear off the car

Lucky ******. We gotta wear overalls and steel toe caps. And every thing on a hgv is big and heavy lol
