Build date thread

Don't worry. I have petrol Cupra on order since July 2021. Had 3 times unconfirmed build dates (first one in October and then weak 22 and 26) - now back to no build date. Its simple - all VW group looks at currently is profit and margins. They don't even hide that to be honest. So if your order is from important market for popular configuration and the profit margin is high you will see your car quicker. But tune in to Cupra announcement in June to hear how amazing they are, how everyone loves them and that they change the world (how they do that is a big mystery even for their PR department :D)
What I am curious for. Normally in June they start producing MY23. If the car, ordered as a MY22, is not produced yet, will it be a MY23 or are they going to give us an old model in the new MY-production?

I had similar thing when ordered Tiguan few years back. It got delivered as new model which meant i got new infotainment system but they removed headlamp washers. It wasnt big deal. Here i fear it might be a big deal as they will probably cut some stuff from config (like BMW did with ACC and Bluetooth)

I really hope they don't remove even more things.. The dynamic indicators were already a bit hit 😬

I've got the same thought. But I think Germany is getting prioritized for cars.

What I do not understand is, when I check german and dutch website from Seat and Cupra, they both have cars in stock. For the netherlands, there is no website with Cupra stock, but they have 62 Seat Leon Hybrids in stock. Why aren't these cars delivered to other countries where they are waiting for their cars?
In Germany they have 27 Seat Leon Hybrids in stock.
For Cupra they have 6 Leons Hybrid in stock and 61 Formentors in Germany. Is it that hard to prioritize customer orders instead of stock for dealers? Showroom cars are normally not put as stock cars for sale, so they can not make the excuse their showroom would be empty.

I really hope they don't remove even more things.. The dynamic indicators were already a bit hit 😬
At least you were told. Communication with my dealer is dreadful and he gives me no updates unless prompted. If my car eventually arrives without a single feature i was not aware of i am going full blast Karen in there

I've ordered fully loaded, so I expect fully loaded... The only things I didn't order were brembo breaks and tow bar because on the hybrid brembo breaks are useless and a tow bar is not possible when choosing panorama roof. For every function or option they remove, I will ask a discount based on price of the option.

this is very true. it was mentioned before that they wait for a big batch of identical orders to arrange the build, so if you ordered something rather odd, you will wait longer.

Unfortunately this is my case too, because in Cyprus we have right-hand drive cars, and we don't even have the same trim levels as the UK, which is the only other right-hand drive country that SEAT builds cars for. And Cyprus is a very small country with very few orders, so I suppose that I am basically screwed 🙃
Apart from Ireland and presumably Malta also.

I contacted my dealership yesterday. They said they contacted the factory and still have no updates regarding the build week or anything else regarding the order.
Which sounds a bit odd, because shouldn't they at least have been told about the removal of the dynamic indicators? I am getting a bit suspicious of them hiding bad news from me, or they are lying to be about "contacting the factory".

I found this email address for Seat's customer support in their headquarters in Spain ([email protected]) and I am considering contacting them directly to see if they can give me some real updates. Do you think they might actually respond truthfully? Has anyone else tried contacting them through this email address?

if they are really a customer care, they have to give some info I would think. But if they are acting like a lot of dealers, they have to change their name to [email protected].

I feel like they won't be of any help either, but didn't hurt to try.

I specifically told them that my dealership / Seat representatives in my country weren't of any help and can't give me any info on the car, and that's why I contacted them directly, in order to avoid the typical response "Contact Seat in your country / your dealership".

I will post their response here (if, and when they reply 🙈 ).

I forgot to mention that that was after they sent me on the goose chase - i messaged them on FB they sent me to dealer - dealer obviously said they don't know and to check with that Customer Support- they then sent me to importer (which is different to dealer - in Estonia the important is in Finland) - they sent me very polite FU template e-mail saying there is a big delay for Hybrid Formentors (i ordered petrol Leon) and sent me back to customer support - and thats the latest. So yeah no one knows no one cares attitude

Maybe, just maybe, spamming Griffiths LinkedIn can help? I follow him and he posted something about a new garage in the Netherlands. I reacted: apparently building garages is more important than building cars or something like that, and he watched my linkedin profile so I suspect he reads reactions.

when did you mail them? i mailed them on the 25th and still no response.

Also, I wouldn't in any case like them to send my dealership a copy of the conversation, since I am describing how "clueless and not helpful" they are in my email 😅
