And now for the sickener….
I’m putting the lower dash back and just discovered this in the tool box!! It should have gone back into the pedal before installation. But Everything feels ok now. Not sure I can be bothered to fit it. 🙈
I wonder whether it would be an issue??!?

Oh ****! That's the bushing, needs to be fitted really or pedal is going to slop around and probably wear were the bolt is.

Yeah. I think you’re right. I f**ked up and now I take the punishment. I know what I’m doing now so should be a quicker job. Mk1 life!!
Nooo, that's painful 😖
Well done for fixing it though, hopefully it will be easier from here on. 🤞👍

Link is in this thread (to Audi sport forum). It’s a good guide, but I found a couple of snags. As others have stated, I can’t see how you can get the spring back in without compressing it with tie wraps:

And the second issue is getting the pedal, white plastic and push rod all located and aligned. If it had an extra 5mm of clearance it would have been a doddle.

Clutch pedal removed, bushing inserted and all put back together. Took around 45mins. I’m an expert now. There is no need to demonstrate my skills for a 3rd time!!🤣 my arms are aching too much.
Glad you got it sorted mate. I still suffer with the PTSD from my encounter, and i only had to do it once haha.
