Question for the knowledge ones on here.( I dont have a clue. I just make it uo as I got along.)
As I am not using the air con, or the power steering pump. I am looking for a way of getting rid of that ally lump on the side of the engine.
I still need an alternator tho. I have seen this from America View attachment 50676
Looks a bit fancy and the idea of light weight too.
I was wondering what other ideas people have done and seen in the past.
I might just take a grinder to the ally lump and cut it down. But I not really looked at that possibility yet.
The aftermarket thingy from America has it nice.and low and on an adjustable arm . So its just crank and alternator.Oh c'mon, are you surprised I have an answer for this?
On the kit car setup I'm running PQ35 bracket with alternator and a non aircon belt. It looks a bit weird but works.
I also have a non aircon ALH alternator bracket that I've already cut down. This brings the alternator much lower (where the aircon pump sits type location). May be convinced to part with it as I'm thinking of another way I want to do it.
Yeah, these are all for diesels but should fit petrol blocks (in theory)
All thanks to you for showcasing our beloved MK1 Leon & turning it into something truly incredible
