Guest, New Stock alert: Premium CUPRA valve caps now available in the store ? Order now from the merchandise store
Thats great to hear. My car will also be done tomorrow. No idea - nearly 3 weeks in, donor car, new parts and plenty of contact with Spain and lots of head scratching.
There was clearly a fault somewhere with it refusing to recognise a Primary User. All that is done now and I'm happy as I can be for the time being.
Went to dealer this morning and they linked the Phone App to the car and everything works. The Dealership location is an issue with OTA, they have 2 large warehouse stores either side and the Faraday Effect wipes out the OTA data. For instance today, after the App and car joined in perfect harmony, the app was still showing all the faults that occurred and missing the vehicle status, yet the dashboard was clear. I moved to the super market car park opposite side of the road and the faults left the app before I had parked up and by the time I came out with my lunch the vehicle status was working. Since then dealer has done the remote control settings and I have now what I should have had 6 months ago and it only cost one car hire rental charge. Hopefully my next visit will be for a oil service and I will have many years driving, before I rely on my daughter to take me shopping!
Can I just thank you for all your help on this matter and if you are in the same situation - it can be done, just do it under warranty!
What model do you have?Thats great to hear. My car will also be done tomorrow.
Seat remoted into to their odis and got my car to accept the update after replacing a faulty component.
Apparently the actual writing to the car takes hours so its being left on overnight but should be ready to collect first thing in the morning.
Mine isn't under warranty. I bought it at my works so my employer is paying for the work.
You can use the vehicle without logging into it with your user profile. Logging in and becoming a primary user gives you additional functionality and transfers your chosen settings to any vehicle you log into. All this talk about logging in etc as a user freaks me out.
I read these threads even though my old cars don’t have any of this tech to worry about.
I’m dreading the day I have to get my head round issues like this.![]()
The 2020-2022 vehicles are really plagued with connect issues. They seem to have ironed most of them out by 2023.Mine is a 2021 Leon FR sport.
Don't stress to much about it. Just funky electrical faults. Not every car has to deal with it. Honestly I wouldn't have gotten mine fixed if I had to pay for it. Car worked fine offline just couldn't use online services. All this talk about logging in etc as a user freaks me out.

Hopefully the update fixes mine permanently now. Ford Transit connects had similar issues and an update fixed them. Ford actually made it a non-proactive recall so I'm a little annoyed seat didn't since a non-proactive recall basically means it only gets done if a person complains but it's still free to the customer. The 2020-2022 vehicles are really plagued with connect issues. Yea I get that although honestly by buying a vehicle your also buying a software licence for all the software that vehicles needs if that software is faulty it should always be free to update. It's not like software is affected by wear and tear. If the software is faulty then it was always faulty. There are lot's of update based recalls across the VWG brands but they don't always seem to address primary user and connectivity issues.
Well after 2 weeks of upsetting a specialist with my car as a Ford qualified technician I can make some educated guesses but don't take this as gospel.Does anyone have an idea on what I can do? Just came back from the dealer and they could not fix it (I was not charged though). I am out of warranty and an email from SEAT tech support tells me I should take it to a dealer under TPI numbers 2064557 and 2069327, but I am skeptical that they will not fix it again.
I am based in Brighton so unfortunately I cannot got this far for a repair. It seems like I can only go back to where I (recently) bought the car from and give them the TPIs and see if they can do anything, otherwise it is a lost hope. Thank you though.Well after 2 weeks of upsetting a specialist with my car as a Ford qualified technician I can make some educated guesses but don't take this as gospel.
The source of theses issues seem to be caused by a few things,
A) Faulty Software.
B) Faulty SOS module.
C) Dead SOS module battery
D) Faulty MIB Module.
Lastly there may be additional causes but these are the most relevant in my opinion.
In my case I have my car back however the specialist needs it back to look into the SOS module.
My car would not update via either OTA, Odis or USB, it wouldn't sign into an account and would crash often.
In order to fix this the specialist opened a technical request and new software was sent over from India.
The module first had to be removed from the car opened up and shorted in a very exact way to erase the memory.
If that doesn't work you need a new module but they are expensive.
After that the software was able to installed via VW software separate to ODIS but idk the name.
Now my car works better works with an account and doesn't crash although it does sometimes sign itself out which may just be an SOS fault which will be looked at next week.
I however suspect it requires a new SOS battery and the specialist will install a software update for the SOS module.
In my opinion we probably should have done the SOS battery first however there isn't a fault code for the battery its just a suspicion of mine.
My car will likely be sorted after this.
I do believe whatever your issues this is likely an expensive repair and I would recomend a specalist.
If you're willing to drive to Cardiff, Wales I'm happy to send you the detailes of the company sorting my car.
If as a tech I'm giving up on, I'm going to discorage any attempts at a DIY repair.
Did you buy from a dealer?I am based in Brighton so unfortunately I cannot got this far for a repair. It seems like I can only go back to where I (recently) bought the car from and give them the TPIs and see if they can do anything, otherwise it is a lost hope. Thank you though.
How recently did you buy the car. If it was within 30 days you can have opt for refund or repair. Within 6 months you're still entitled to a repair.I am based in Brighton so unfortunately I cannot got this far for a repair. bought from a local garage, there was a 12-month 3rd party warranty included. are these TPIs (2064557 and 2069327) definitely going to fix the issue? because if they do then i will definitely explore this option.Did you buy from a dealer?
That's good.bought from a local garage, there was a 12-month 3rd party warranty included.
