Nothing has updated on mine when adding the file to the FAT32-formatted drive. The update wasn't recognised at all.

Right. Well they still have not sorted that out then for Seat / Cupra then. It will use the descriptor of the unit plus the presence of the SE in that manifest file. It's a lot like the old VW POI input process where the unit needed to be recognised.

There are still missing UK radio logos in it from the Troc report and Briskoda, so it might not have helped. A design floor in not allowing users to update the radio images with their own png / jpegs as mib2. In the original documentation but never implemented.

I reckon basically if the radio logo image is in the phonostar radio internet bouquet 💐 as they call them it will be in the car's system file, but if not it won't be. They wont have done anything special to manufacture that file. They just leave off the Seat / Cupra unit descriptor which is a separate issue. It was in once.

Probably the connect services passage of the logos doesnt use the same import protocol so get's written directly into memory. That's how Seat / Cupra connect customers get their radio logo updates though that route which cant use the same method, obviously but still missing some radio logos. Siesta time in HQ.

As we have been told by @East Yorkshire Retrofits an online firmware update via connect services may then get a radio logo update but if you arent getting those firmware updates for reasons that it cant be updated.... fill in the dots, then your radio logos don't get updated, but if updated they are only as good as Phonostar's database who are the Vag provider of the logos.

Well MartiniB has updated the links to the latest

links in head post have been updated

MQB2_Europe_v1.10.66

MQB3_JND_Europe_v1.31.66

MQB3_LGe_Europe_v1.31.66

ICAS3_LGe_Europe_v1.31.66

See header post

ICAS3 are the EVs ones. MQB2 the Mib2. Just leaves the 2nd and 3rd.as the remaining ICE Mib3/4.

As before not sure whether these work on Seat / Cupra... some did in the past. Don't have the unit.

If in contract for connected services you don't need the links. I seem to recall that if you get a firmware update which you get even if not in contract you can get a radio logo update to follow attributed to @East Yorkshire Retrofits. Suppose this saves the wait if there is no firmware update due.

Feel free to play and report back. Bauer logos are now in apparently... other than that you have to nag Cupra to sort out the logos for post mib2 where you are at the mercy of the infotainment provider.

Another nugget here on this latest release:

Mind you whether Seat / Cupra will recognise the file to get to that stage. So the upshot is in the later release Phonostar has made good most of the missing UK radio stations in the source file that may or may not be released over the air via connect services at this time and this file may or may not load via the USB.

Will await reports.

Well that's good news. Bauer UK stations are in the 1.31.66 release and you need that nugget of information above to do it. VW UK customers have been hassling Phonostar to get the logos in the database. It's paid off.

Brands:

Alternatively connected customers can sit back and wait till that release is pushed to the unit.

Hi Tell,

Hope you are well and long time no speak...

Is this an update for Europe Stations only ?
We just wrote to Phonostar.de in German asking about Australia.

Oh... by the way, we haven't done the Mib3 Maps Update as yet, as there is a bit going on... and we have had a few reasons for not doing it as yet.

We just had the Steering Recall done, was done in a day, which has been surprising according to many of other Australians, that have had the car off the road for days or weeks in some cases.

You'll be looking for Radio National and all those ABC stations. Basically we ride on the back of VW owners harassing them to put in missing stations unless you pretend you have a Skoda / VW. Same database. They load on a macro so as long as it has the unit and SE marker in.

Yep... when I am in the Bus I put ABC AM Radio on... but the Better Half, says F**k no we won't !! lol
I are you suggesting that there is a Skoda Database for Australian Stations already, for the MiB3 ?

The Device Part Number Search didn't work at phonostar.de so I reported the failure... and e-mailed them too, so hopefully I will get a response.

Well it should contain Australia. It won't delete anything if it doesn't work. It just won't work.

I could have a go seeing what is in the mib2 files later. They are common content. I've never used thr mib2 ones since we can just load the odd missing one rather than do a complete update but I do know people that do the complete update as mib3.

Well that sounds good, I need to find the Mib2 file do I ?
Is that here a few pages back ?

Sorry, I didn't know that would possibly work

Morning Tell,

Yes I am Cupra Ateca 2024... Mib3.

I am not sure what you mean with "can't look and resale since they are signed"
What I mean you have to be very careful when you open those files and look. Don't save them again. Poking about inside just to look but changing anything by accident will pop the signature. Like a finger print of the set of files is made and that is encrypted within the signatures. Old days people messed with the files. They can't now.

Ahhh Ok...

I wouldn't try that, however I don't have the files and I am not even certain where or what I need to look for.

Everything seems for Europe Radio Logos.

Ok, but what file am I looking for ?
Sorry there are so many.
Ah the maps you are fine they are supported covered in the other thread... Google AI supports my conclusion on the radio logos:

The Phonostar radio station logo database is not officially available or supported for Australian Volkswagen models.

Key Details

• Region Restriction: The Phonostar and Volkswagen partner database for updating radio station logos (via USB on MIB3 or compatible infotainment systems) is maintained exclusively for Europe.
• Australian MIB Units: Australian-spec Volkswagen infotainment units (such as those in the T-Roc, Tiguan, and Golf) do not have official local support or active station-logo database packages provided through Phonostar.
• Workarounds: Manual or official third-party options to inject station logos into Australian MIB3 firmware are generally unavailable or unsupported by local VW service networks.

----

So I reckon you are stuffed. Seems a bit odd. The RoW is supported in the mib2 files. Perhaps they are dealer network only files.

Talking of which my dealer succeeded in deleting my dab and FM stations and logos today. That was only suppose to be doing a service, so I reckon I'll try the mib2 files. Returned from service no BBC radio presets tuned in. RTE yes. Bit weird. Perhaps they thought they were being helpful. I think I had the old style logos so they thought they would upgrade them. Ofcourse they aren't in the database of a 10 year old car and they didn't update the database.... but RTE from across the water survived their handy work . Only thing I can think. Delete, delete... ah but what next. Those linked mib2 files but by then they were under water.
