I had a 2023 Cupra Leon VZ and I disabled the restrictions around Android Auto via OBDeleven. Now I have a 2023 Leon V (no Z), and the option to remove the restrictions isn't there? But the restrictions still exist. I've scanned all modules long coding and adaptations, I can't seem to find the following on my Leon V. Any ideas? The only difference is I used an OBDeleven 2 with my VZ, now I have a 3 with my V (lost the 2 :()

8. Android Auto – remove various restrictions (SFD)
This allows lifting various restrictions from the infotainment system with Android Auto.
- STG 5F Adjustment "nhtsa_properties"
o Restriction: No video playback in Android Auto
Value "nhtsa_limitation_switches_for_androidauto_no_video_playback" set to "not activated" (Default: "activated")
o Restriction: No text input while driving (keyboard missing)
Value "nhtsa_limitation_switches_for_androidauto_no_text_input" set to "not activated" (Default: "activated")
o Restriction: No changes to settings while driving
Value "nhtsa_limitation_switches_for_androidauto_no_setup_configuration" set to "not activated" (Default: "activated")
o Restriction: Character limit on messages
Value "nhtsa_limitation_switches_for_androidauto_limit_displayed_message_length" set to "not activated" (Default: "activated")

Possibly since they dont want you to do it ?. Vag tightening up ?. SFD2 came in um.. needs a Google. So I'd say either way they have taken the handshake out so you can't handshake it ?. Video on the move is illegal probably across Europe so to keep NCAP happy taken out. To get 5 star you have to have all the warnings, beeps and squeaks. But its not just about safety but that pesky regulations to stop enthusiasts hacking cars and turning them into botnets

That mandate

Another moderator that's hot on that regulation. So suspect the handles to get at Android to open it up were removed either as a run up to SFD2 or you got SFD2. Did start appearing from 2023 but they might have scuppered it in the run up.

Literally why we code via OBD lol!

Car is not SFD2 protected, and the only thing I’m interested in is the "nhtsa_limitation_switches_for_androidauto_no_text_input" flag, which sits with the other ones. Disabling this allows typing into Google Maps whilst the car is moving. 2025 VW SFD2 vehicles allow typing whilst driving here in Australia, so it can be disabled, and I have done it previously on another same year Cupra, just can’t find it on mine.

I did do a bit of editing on the post above during the reply. You want your Australian Don. I reckon he'd say its been dropped. Thats my thinking. If he's still with the land of the living he hangs out on the Obdeleven board. He'd know. If Vag choose not to provide the handshake it's not going to happen.

Not so likely but maybe it is a bug on OBD11 v3 that is preventing some entries from showing up. I'd try to find a v2, or use other apps like VCDS or VCTool to see if anything changes.

I did find one Google but AI assisted, which said that the command may not be supported on some units eg. Blocked / not brought out. Which is what I was saying. This could be an AI fantasy answer. You need to see where that was said. There was no link provided in the Google.

On this Google but the link page doesn't mention it:

It wouldn't surprise me that it was dropped.

I don't have those other tools, unfortunately. I will reach out to support to check if there's any difference between v2 and v3, or just a difference in the software for my car. The only thing I can think of is the car came with software version 1900 and I upgraded via USB (no OTA in Australia) to 1969, whereas my Leon VZ came with 1969. Does the dealership have a different type of software update that also updates those modules? Probably a stupid question.

If anyone has any clue on how to code out the Android Auto restrictions, please let me know. :)

Well it can be removed out of the infotainment system. They are software hooks so if the headend isn't identical between what you had before and now (that code you find on the infotainment screen and the like of mib helper gets you to type in) can be the issue. Can be the micro coding in the chips as well, same unit, different chip coding. Obviously there will be more of this as Vag stop users messing with their cars and that one is well on the way. They are "their" cars when they are on a PCP contract. I'm not expecting to be able to do much coding when I do get a new car. I expect the safety guy on unlocking that function decided, no you can't, it's not safe

Hello, I want to make the modification, but I have doubts about the one you have on the page.. I have a SEAT León 1.5 TSI manual transmission of the year 2022 and my car has the Lane Assist, but there is a function that mine has activated by default which is: Overtaking_right_prevention. So I think it's a prevention, but I don't know if it's the right thing to deactivate. The other option is that he says that in his car there is no effect at the beginning of the photos; in my car it brings things that it deactivates according to my modules, so I don't know if everything is correct, since mine is manual change, or if there are the modifications for manual change and those are automatic, and if you need it, I can upload how my two modules are going so that the one who understands it can look at it perfectly. You'll tell me.

You are on this one

We always recommend coding to the one click apps. Eg. The pro licence.

What you're asking is not so clear from your post but I'll try to provide some information. Overtaking_right_prevention is a function of Adaptive Cruise Control, not Lane Assist. If this function is activated, when ACC is active and you're in the middle or right lane, it checks if there's a vehicle in a lane to your left and won't let you pass it from the right even if it is slower than your car and will slow you down. If this function is deactivated, passing on the right won't be prevented.

It also gets people on the going off a lane to the left on RHD or right on LHD where you are allowed to undertake but will stop you. That is what was frustrating that poster on the Formentor thread. They wanted to legitimately undertake.... I never use Lane assist and ACC... prefer to keep awake using my feet and steering wheel .

It's clever technology using imaging off the lane assist camera.

I want to encode the wheel with travel but in the tutorial on page 6 it says that that option is turned off and in my car it comes activated is what I mean if I have to turn it off or not for the activation of travel, if you want I can send a photo of my unit so you can see it.

If you mean Travel Assist, that function has nothing to do with the coding of Travel Assist. It does not matter whether it's activated or not, Travel Assist would work in any case, if the correct hardware and software are present of course.

Where I say if its not a DSG you can't have travel assist. That picks up from stationary and stops but doesnt work in a manual.

Without a DSG get forced to change the gear when it ends up in the wrong one as it stops. The travel stuff were sold as levels of luxury. Lane assist aperture camera is what you need for the prevention of overtaking etc. Lane assist is in that link.
