1.2 to 1.4/1.6/1.8/2.0 conversion

really? :s so its either underpowered ...donky engine, diesel power, or the 1.8t engine really :S think I will wait n get a new car tbh

(not knocking diesel....really like them we have a 130 passat ...it's awesome)

No, the 1.4 is a total donkey of an engine... sooner have that 3 pot.

Absolutely agree!!! My mother had a mk4 1.4 which she loved, but the engine was crap. Really flat, hesitant and just woulndt go. She now has a mk5 1.2 which she loves and cannot believe the difference in "power";)

im the one alot of people on here think would be into doing an engine conversion and i have looked into it mate, and tbh im keeping my 1.2 engine,

reasons:
1. too expensive to do conversion
2. if successfully done u will get fault after fault, including fault codes from the engine.
3. insurance wouldnt have u
4. why change something that already works

I just dont understand the logic behind this, You hate the car, Its worth **** all yet your going to spend £3000 doing it up?
