I'll be honest Nate I was expecting a bit more lol got a feeling i developed a leak on the way home :( lol so guuna give it a check tomoz it's defo much better tho pulls nicely but can't use second :p lol just spins lol seem to lack a bit of power in 3rd and 4th tho :(

Yup I dunno if I have just didn't really pull as hard in 3rd and 4th as it does in 2nd seconds great fun :)

Hi

Replying to the various posts here:

I ran the car here on saturday.

The car gave very good power the first run (did anyone notice the weather last week- snow?) and then lost power on the 2nd, 3rd run then even less so run aborted early.

Other runs are standard and highest run when previously here.

Checked fault codes on the car. It had lambda fault and clutch/brake pedal switch fault.

Car requires Stage 2 and switch changed. Customer coming in next week.

More than happy with our rolling road and we are just about to order another one for our new branch in Luton. Another one will be fitted in to our Kent branch when it opens towards the end next year.

Cheers Shaun.

P.S. Mountune use our rolling road for their TUV and Ford manufacturer approval. If TUV gives our rolling road the thumbs up then I think we can be happy that we are using the right equipment?
Comparing rolling roads is pretty pointless because there are so many variables, such as how many fans to give airflow? I have just looked at a few fan set-ups at various companies and most wouldn't blow dry Wagners hair! Including a company mentioned above.

We tested this to 2bar of boost yesterday and no leaks...

with 126,000 miles on your motor, its tired.

Looking at the logs I am not overly convinced the requested boost is that of a stage 2.. with 1.2bar request and an occasional 1.3bar achieved initially.. then dies away thereafter.

What do others see on their requested boost from stage 2?

there's a thing called gearing which is why lower gears pull harder than taller gears - lol, when its not spinning them.

running boost of 9, ign of 5 or 6, and CF timing pulls of 9 initially as run as it drove in once leaks fixed, there's nothing left in the engine to give. The dynoplts you got show it was consistent at least.. and after finding the leaks from only 5psi test pressure its boost now makes its way into the engine. Max airflow i think logged was 171g/s so not wow airflow, but not crazy low either.

your injector seals could do with replacing also, when you get a minute. 4 new o rings req'd to stop the weeping.

regards
bill

Hi Bill

No I'm not- you can put you're flaming faces out! :)

I just find it frustrating when our rolling road set-up is compared to a place that has one small fan at the front of the car. We can't get as much airflow as on the road with 3 big fans (1m diameterx3) so how 1 small fan can get enough air through the intercooler/engine/radiator I have no idea?

Cheers Shaun.

thankyou

extinguished now

Airflow aside its cooling which we're after, so when logging, and keeping an eye on AIT's etc etc, all is good as it gets cooling wise.. Just takes longer when waiting for it all to cool back down again. We use water spray when needed to help assist SMIC's and FMIC's which start to heat soak. Works well enough to keep AIT's in the sensisble region... more so than what I have seen on the road when logging previously when heat soak kicks in severely..

I agree with Mork, looks like loads of different graphs have been bundled together. I wouldn't worry too much about rolling road figures. Mine isn't making high figures on the RR but it is a weapon on the roads, surprises alot of other quick out of the box cars. Also I think D.Ks graph was funny when AmD rollered it for the first two runs and it made 262bhp and 270bhp. They supposigbly left it to cool down for 5 mins lol (which would have had major heatsoak) and re run it and it made
281

Im not dissing your car mate as its lovely in every way, i just think the run of 281bhp wasnt true as you cant get rid of heatsoak just after a few mins of cooling down with a fan blowing at the intercooler, ive gave my car a bit of stick and you could still feel the engine had heatsoaked an hour later when driving it for the first 5 mins. I had even left my bonnet up for an hour in -2c conditions while i was working on it. I also heard through a couple of other sources that they have had to get their rolling road tested and a new license or something. Im not slating down AmD, as they have always been very helpful with me and always sorted me out even if the cost was alot of money, i'd go on other rollers to get a verification :)
Brad, I dont get why with one hand your slapping someone round the face and the other you are caressing them?

Not sure why you even brought DKs car into mix. Not as if DK goes around saying I got 281bhp and my car is faster than your car? Also why on one hand your referencing AMDs rollers are inaccurate and the other your saying they helped you out a lot.

Just not right mate.

I have been on Shauns rollers million times and my figures come out consistant. Yes I got the odd figure when car hasnt quite settled on the Dyno (I have had that a few times and the car was always rerun). I challenge anyone to find a more accomodating outfit than AMD especially on rolling road days. If people got odd figured on rolling road days how many companies offer to road test them and rerun the cars on the same day? Amount of times I seen Shaun, Nick and Kenny diagnose cars with problems on these days is immense - thats service.

Hello bill I know we tested it lol but could a hissing sound on the way home after about half hour car defo runs loads better and feels soooo much smoother :) you were a great help and will be getting all my done by you ;)

Because their customer service is spot on and they've always helped me out. I'm not wanting to fall out with anyone, it's just things I've heard about their rollers and after the findings out from my car etc. I've heard their rollers over read and it proved it a little with my LCR. My car will never be going on rollers at RR days anymore as it's just pub bragging rights. On the road is where it counts

best advise is replace all those cheap t-bolt clamps with some good hi-grip stainless steel ones, as these stay tight once tightened unlike the ones you have which you can go on and on and on tightening...
all the best
