Im interest to install this in my car, im at stage 2 at the moment.

with Cruise Control Lever (Easily flashed FOR FREE with Simos Tools App):
Map 1 = 265 HP 350 NM OEM/STOCK
Map 2 = 310 HP 400 NM OEM Map from Golf 7.5 R taken
Map 3 = 380 HP 450 NM for 95 Octane
Map 4 = 430 HP 480 NM for 98 Octane
Map 5 = 440 HP 480 NM for 100/102 Octane
Check the Dragy-RUNS: 100-200 | 0-100 with these different Maps:

Yes, with the help of the FB-Group 'Simos Tools' and its guides (pdf-files) it is easy to tune your own ECU and DQ250 and DQ381.
