This is probably a very stupid question but, what is plate? I saw many people introduce their car like "Cupra with plate 59" in this forum. Is it the vehicle registration plate code of a city or something like that?

Well mine is a 2004 reg Mk1 rather than a new one, but im only 22.
Need a nice TDI for the 40K miles I do a year and my mk4 golf wasnt a nice as my Leon, so I sold it and stuck with this. (Both VAG TDI engines)

Lol

Lol if that's the case I been having a midlife crisis since I was 19 then lol

Yes, it is the registration plate you refer to. I am guessing you are not from the UK?

Our plates are of this format. '%%02 %%%' '%%52 %%%' where the percentage signs are letters. The 02plate was released in march 2002, 52 in september 2002 etc.

HTH.

Recent proud purchaser of a Candy White Cupra, I'm 28 and I 'upgraded' from a Civic Type R.

I was sixty one in Sept 2009 when I bought my 59 plate Leon FR 2.0 TDI CR. So I guess I must be one of the oldest in the group though I sure as hell wouldn't be the slowest!

Im 22, and i drive an FR TDI 170, and before that owned an EP3 type R, mitsubishi evo 2, cooper S, Rover tomcat turbo, Rover 620 turbo..and a yaris !

me 49 her younger ...threats of death if I reveal that bit.....had some old fast stuff that most on here will never have heard of or their dad's probably owned....Dolomite Sprints...Rover V8...Fiat Strada Abarth ....:)

im just 21 and ive had my fr tfsi mk2 for over a year, only reason i got it because insurance was cheap for a quick car lol

Thanks for the answer its appreciated. Yes I'm from Turkey.. Our plates does not have such meanings. But my plate has another meaning. It is "VAK" that is the sound of a duck in Turkish :)

22 in jan.. Mk2 cupra k1 = cheap insurance.. Not :) plus points. Plus accident.. All from a un skilled early driving experience in a 1.2 corsa c. Was 20 when I got my mk1 LCR and insurance was third of what the car was worth.

Ever penny spent is enjoyed :)

23 and got my first leon :) and i love it... its only a 1.4 but after owning a 170bhp civic my license requires me to have a not so fast car for a while lol

How do you young'uns afford to insure Cupra R's and ****? It must cost astronomical amounts. I'm 22 with 4 years no claims and I can't insure the 140bhp diesel for under £1500
