i have found that my insurance is cheaper on a faster more expensive car, than on a shitty banger. dunno if its because you will look after it more? but i got a quote of 1200 on a 1.2 fiesta. the leon costs me 1000 a year. saving up for my next car at the moment, an M3. can afford the car. just not the 3000 insurance:p

hmmm is that not maybe more the petrol/disel issue? my insurance is cheaper on a 2 litre diesl than it was for a 1.4 petrol. i was more meaning that hes 17 and regardless what engine size u get the price is gonna be huuuuuuuuuge

27 when I got my first Mk I TDi SE and 32 when I got current Mk II Sport TDI. Went for DSG, to much "getting old" comments from friends. Who cares, though - it's nice :D

I'm 19, although got my Leon 1.9TDI Mk 2 at 18.

Next year I fancy getting a an 05 plate Mk1 Seat Leon Cupra for abit of fun.... just keep this car for work.

I was 30 when got my Mk2 company car so not sure how much cost is on ins.

however had a civic type r before my company car (got rid as no need for 2 cars) cost me 300 quid fully comp as 9+ yrs no claims etc...

I've just invested in an 07 plate Leon TDI Stylance (with Sport pack) which I take delivery of on Saturday. I'm 24 and just wondering how old Leon drivers tend to be?

Most of my friends seem to be still driving around in small run-about type cars, I'm done with the small cars and really wanted a bigger 'mans' car! lol!

thats fair enough, we are all diferent, but what i cant help thinking or wondering is if you took out any finance to buy the car?
think i was driving a corrado at your age.

Im 21. Had my Leon FR Tdi since April last year i think so would have been 20. Also have my first car since i was 17, '93 Mini Sprite, fully restored with a fast road tuned 1275cc engine... Both cars provide endless amounts of joy! :)

no but i have owned alot of cars this is one of the cheapest to insure so far which is helpfull coz its long term.....
but yh i do live in a very low crime area!
