Another Cluster problem. LCD screen

I've read all about the usual 6 dial cluster problems, but I can't find my problem anywhere.

This is the LCD screen that should say mileage etc.

Would re-soldering the pins on the dial help this issue?

After driving for about an hour which is rare for me, the digits start showing up clearer but still flicker.

Is the screen not getting enough power?

Thanks again,
John

soldering wont help..these screens are fed by a block type material..either side..

they act as a connector to the screen if you get my drift..

stripping the clocks down and cleaning the connectors up may help.

the whole screen is held in by by a metal clip...so maybe that has come unclipped.

if not id say the screen is at fault.

That does make sense, may explain why it work every so often.

Getting a used cluster and swapping the lcd's could work if its at fault then?

could do..id try cleaning and making sure the screens clipped in correctly.

shame tho as i have just sold 2 sets of 6 dial dashes..one was for spairs..the other was mint and worked perfectly.

I tend to agree, try cleaning the pads on the PCB and edges of the carbon strips. If need be, I have a 6 dial instrument cluster which is faulty.
