Formentor is Perfect , great car it’s the wife’s car but I’m using it more and more and leaving my 335D XDRIVE to take hers which I have never done before. Tomorrow we have a 200 mile drive and we are choosing to take her car.
My car is more economical and faster but the Formentors the car of choice.

Posting again to say just how happy I am every single time I step inside this car. I continue to find little nice features.

Just starting using voice commands. My god it works well. "The passengers feet are cold" and it heats the paws of your guest! It's really good at recognizing different phrasing of commands as well. Only downside is it doesn't understand me when I speak danish :ROFLMAO:

There is no such thing as a perfect car !!!
Each one has problems here and there.
The good ones only a few, and the worse ones (or new models) more.

But I had only small problems and they were fixed when I was upgraded from 1656 to 1672.
No problems since then, only the system is a little slow.

Mine has also been perfect. Had a bad battery from new but this was sorted. Its back in today for the ACC update but other than those it has been great.

Such a great car, it is two cars in one. A normal comfortable easy to drive car in comfort, or pop it into Cupra and get the theatrics.

Mines perfect now I've had the a896 update and the only new car I've ever bought which doesn't have even the tiniest noise or squeak present when I'm driving it!

Thank you for this series of postings.
I hope to get something to replace our current BMW which I do not enjoy. The VZ2 is top of the list but some of the comments on this forum and Google in general have planted serious doubts in my mind. It almost feels like a ££££ gamble and I have never gambled ! Everything about the car suits my needs but ...infotainment issues !!!
I intend to purchase something within the next couple of months and if it is the VZ2 it will be one less than a year old so should have all the updates.
Only real alternatives are also VAG cars, the Audi sq2 or VW T-roc R. Infotainment similar but not quite as comprehensive but lacking in other areas. Other cars discarded included Jaguar E-Pace, Volvo XC 40 T5, Alfa Stelvio etc.
It is reassuring to read of other positive experiences so I just have to hit on the right car. Wish me Luck.
Cheers

I came from BMW too, an X1 which I did enjoy tbh but I do enjoy the Formentor more. I looked at pretty much the same range as you and ended up with an 8 month old V2 Hybrid. It was Cupra's demonstrator, no way wanted to wait 9 months for a new one! I did have a few infotainment issues but the latest update, done by the dealer, sorted those & I'm very happy with it.
I would have liked to have gone up the range slightly but the extra yearly car tax for the first 5 years put me off.
Good luck with your search and I hope you find a good one 👍.

They seem to be working thru their infotainment issues with over the air updates which is a new development for May. This one:

I did wonder how they were going to sort out the upgrades at dealers given they were only doing minor ones OTA, volumes to be upgraded, but reading the threads they have branched out into major ones which were dealer only before. We wait to see how they beef up the mib3 navigation system to get it back something akin to mib2 but with connect services.

I came across from a top of the range 2019 Evoque. TBH I had no issues with it, but other evoques had numerous issues including OTA. Given its a prestige brand, it should be far better.

The formentor, has a far superior infotainment, if you discount the update issues. It's smoother and far more responsive.

My only issue at present is the inability to become primary user since update to 1896, which was a doddle when I got the vehicle. Its leading me to think possibly a hardware issue as a result of the upgrade.

Possibly their servers. There are some Leon 4 people that know there way around mib3. Ask over on that side if no joy here.
Many thanks. TBH I have tried a few times a day, every day for over a week, same issue. But will take a look.

I'm coming from an Evoque Autobiography and wondered about the change, thanks for sharing. I've had no real issues apart from very squeaky brakes!
The one thing I know I will miss is the memory passenger seat but I guess I'll learn to live with it.
On the subject of missing things I think I'm going to get annoyed with lane assist defaulting to on every start up. In the Evoque it can simply be turned off. Not sure how easy it is to turn stop/start off as well. I imagine theres no physical button for this either.

Thanks everyone for all the informative and helpful comments.
I now have some extra questions to ask of my local Cupra dealer (Peterborough) when I am next in town. It will be interesting to see how "informative and friendly", they are.
Cheers

Fozz they are car dealers, they know not what they do
For example ,I have seen this several times on Autotrader adverts, a model that has leather as standard is quoted that leather is fitted as an extra. Either fools or liars some of them!

True! No car is perfect.

Now mine is all fixed and within a time frame I found acceptable, it is nigh on perfect.

Honestly haven't wanted to drive a car more than this. It ticks all the right boxes, good looking, powerful and great interior especially for tall people.

I'm 15 months in now with my VZ3, and after some slight niggles were sorted with the infotainment via software patches I'm absolutely trouble-free and loving it. First service tomorrow (but I did an intermediate oil change on my own - don't trust these crazy service intervals)
