guys below is the contents of an email I have just received from Turborevs, i'll be ordering when stock arrives and have already suggested a number of members would be interested all depending on results seen after mine is tested.

hope this helps:funk:

Hi,

We can confirm that the FMIC kit will fit the Mk4 Golf, Audi A3, A4, Seat Leon Cupra with VAG 1.8T engine. We are not too sure about the Cupra R. However if you are willing to try it on your car and provide us with feedback then I'm sure we can come to some agreement.

The dimensions of the core is: 510mm x 165mm x 70mm.

Currently we are out of stock of this kit we are expecting more stocking arriving 1st week in December so if you contact us then we can come to an arrangement.

thanks
Jav

Looking at the intercooler it should fit the R and not the Cupra as the inlet and outlet pipe are either side of the intercooler.

The cupra has one single intercooler and needs the inlet and outlet pipes the same side - I owned a cupra and i had a intercooler with the inlet and outlet pipes the same side - the only way it would fit a cupra is with alot of pipe work

Im no expert just from speaking to people - so hope this helps ;)

Ive got two pictures so if i didn't explain it well enough :)

Both of these intercoolers are from Forge

Yeah to me the turborevs one seems concidurabley smaller in height than the forge one too which surely will reduce cooling also wondering how the turbo rev one will be mounted as with forge you get a modified crash bar dont you

This to me seems that it is in fact designed for the lc due to the excessive amount of alloy pipes you get
which simply would not be needed for the LCR

It also does not state the TT/ S3 which to me is concearning as its more of a TT one is required than a golf one

what doesn't make sense is that the turborevs one has the inlet and outlet on opposite sides which, would imply that it had been designed for an LCR however, they say it is designed for the golf etc. (which is presumably the same design as the LC) so their design is counterproductive to simple and correct fitment (on an LC/Golf/A3)!!!

If that little thought goes into the design, one assumes that little thought has equally gone in to the rest of the design, i.e. mounting, performance, etc. I'm inclined to think that performance wise it will not stack up against the one from forge but perhaps for the difference in cost (on an LCR) it might just be worth that bit less performance wise.

Also, as has already been pointed out, if this doesnt come with a modified crash bar, fitting it to your existing crash bar could be an absolute bitch!

to be honest dave i dont quite know what relates to as i have nothing to gauge it against and im not 100% on how a intercooler is constructed so im a little short on knowledge of them.
However yes i had realised that was small

That is pretty small dave, is the Forge one not about 800mm x 300mm or summit?

Just glad someones gonna give it a try and if it doesn;t fit least your getting you money back!

As I said before the MKV Golf in the USA is $22,000
and £ £26,000 here ...its just the market price and the exhange rates ,
we are also here for you 24 - 7
I can 100% assure you that one kit will not fit all 1.8Ts
we have developed them specifically

Don't get me wrong your products are quality and I have a few Forge items on my LCR however it's a little unjust when US customers get a nice twintercooler for approx £450 and we have to pay £800 for the same product. It would be cheaper to buy from a US source or even ship one over and ship back at that cost. How come we get stung on the prices even without the VAT there is a big difference. :(. No wonder some people are forced to try out cheaper alternatives.

I think the question guys is would you pay more for an established product thats been tried and tested (FORGE) rather than a cheaper gamble with apparently not much devopment or technical knowledge (TURBO ****) thats not a dig at them either before i get hauled across the coals for bad mouthing them lol, from what I have read on that company they also offer the Atmospheric BOV which supposidly works on the VAG 1.8t, yet the video advertisment is showing there HKS SSQV style valve is on a fiat coupe in another country? makes me wonder what these guys actually know about tuning a VAG engine,.. on that basis im not going to trial the FMIC kit they offer, I think the hassle of size, fittings, results and most importantly knowledge makes this product potentially far more expense than a forge kit... Again thats only my opinion.

Whats your thoughts?
