Anyone used K&N inbox filter for Leon MK2?

They say K&N filters are no good for the MAF sensor at Leons..is that true?

only problem i've ever had on my old car with a K&N was the amout of oil on the filter as standard, it built up on the maf sensor but all was required was careful cleaning. Don't think it did it again but it was a common problem, this was about 7 years ago though.....

I installed a K&N after speaking with Awesome. I doubt it'll cause any issues unless you go mental with the oil! Apparently the MAF has always been the weakspot and will/can fail regardless of which filter you go for...

or does everyone just get a panel filter? I doubt there would be any substantial benefit?

Depends whether noise floats your boat. IMO a panel filter provides the same performance/responsiveness increase (1bhp -2bhp if that) as a quality induction kit. I couldnt be bothered with the extra cost so went for a panel filter...
