Were you the one to achieve those figures on Awesomes Revo friendly dyno then?.

As a versed to an APR friendly one?

The very same dyno that produced the very repeatable figures on my car that I got on many other independent dyno's. The only time i saw anything freaky was on a DynoDynamics which seemed to change its mind one year to the following year when pretty much nada had changed on the car.

Quite happy to take mine to any other dyno, whether its less or more, I like to see more data.

But I've no complaints with Awesome's DynoJet, I didn't complain when mine struggled to pull 340hp on the very same rollers while REVO cars were screaming up above 360 with ease last winter. They were still solid APR dealers then.

Mine is of a similar setup to Jeffs in level of mods, I differ slightly on some items.

But guess what. Two cars setup almost the same running near on identical figures.. on completely different days..what do you know. [B)]

Would love to see some more Mk2 Cupra's down at Awesome on the 20th to compare notes.

Currently John set it up on the dyno with Boost 9 Timing 6 Fuel 9

However its going to get logged and tweaked properly. I'll be speaking to Kev tomorrow too so he may want to make some alterations.

Can't really thrash it too much yet as the clutch needs some time to bed in also.

Rich told me about some concerns that yours was setup lean, but mine seemed quite happy with the APR HPFP. Its always run on Shell V Power, and I rarely deviate on fuel.

We did 4 or 5 back to back runs on the new code straight after being flashed. Running 365hp solidly with timing on 8, but John took it down to 6 and still got 365.

I want to speak to Kev and get more detail off him about setup, my old Cupra R had the same attention spent on it so this one will be no different. I'll want it running tip top. Awesome are new to the product so I'll be tapping REVO just as much for guidance.

Early days, new software so its not finished being tweaked with yet. But not bad results when its just been reflashed. No adaption time on the road.

Yep fuel 9 is as lean as you can go, im using b7 t6 f7. I was using b9 for a bit but was not entirely happy with how the car felt. Loads of shove low down but seemed to run out of puff at the top.

Na i was just commenting on how zboyd has his boost set to 9 and when i had mine at 9 ermm well as above really

When it was at 9 the car just felt like it couldnt hold the boost right to the top where as on 7 it does it with ease right the way through the rev range.

As I said, chatting to Kev tomorrow, be good to catch up with the guys at REVO.

Ran fine on the dyno, and felt smoother on the road than it has since it was new. Very impressed with the code compared to the APR code.

But its not been driven hard, rarely does get thrashed anyway, but especially on the M60 tonight it was bumper to bumper. :(

Clutch also needs some time to bed in, but the whole point of me going back over to Awesome tomorrow for their open day event with REVO is to pick their brains on setup and what to look for. :)

Awesome are new to REVO too, so its good all round to get some data.

Yeah, you can,t do better than talking to Revo directly.

Aye from experience Ryan, I've known them for quite some time. :) The Cupra R was always brilliant and they helped me to set that up.

I'm about to post an over-view in a new thread of what I've done today and it starts with a little bit of a speech that centres on my reasons for why I had stuck with what in principal has obviously been inferior code in most of our opinions.

You may know that i stuck with APR with my LCR Mark. Couldn,t knock their product on the mk1,s. It,s a shame they didn,t move with the times and broadened their UK dealers. I think thats really let them down. looking forward to your thoughts as always

APR have some great products, I have no complaints about their hardware its been solidly brilliant and it will remain on my car and I will sing its praises whenever approached on the subject. I also know the Mk1 LCR code was very competent which was developed in close partnership with Awesome.

Though as an outsider and customer looking in I just don't see APR's focus is on Europe and I'm not sure it ever was. It could well just be sour grapes over what happened when REVO muscled in on their market stall 8 or 9 years back as the whole legal case kicked off over APR Europe. They felt they had to take an interest in this market and for a while they probably did.

But while they are making pots of money in the States and Australia and their brand flourishes in those markets, the UK just seems to be of secondary importance. Some big promises, but very little emphasis on developing results for either their customers or their dealers...especially in regards to coding.

Just my thoughts on it, and only my perception of what I've witnessed over the past decade or so of being an interested customer that has a keen interest in the industry.

I'm happier for Awesome over this whole thing, that they have made the decision commercially to become REVO dealers, the market in this country is strongly on the side of REVO now. Tuning is a fickle game, people will go where they see the best figures and where they see the majority of development and result. For a while in Europe at least that hasn't been happening with APR code, its been a slow development process problematic and not producing the proven performance the competition have.

From Awesome's point of view as a dealer, customers not choosing APR or being unhappy with APR has the detrimental effect of customers not choosing Awesome for their servicing work, or other tuning products which are more often than not entirely unrelated with APR products. However thats how many people view it and thats obviously concerning to Awesome if they are losing bread and butter customers due to a perception that because they offered APR over REVO they are not any good to deal with. They had good faith in a product, they wanted to further develop the product but seems the manufacturer didn't have the same view.

REVO develop here, they base their operations here, and its makes great commercial sense for REVO to have Awesome selling their product. As a premier VAG specialist in the UK, having REVO at Awesome is a mighty feather in REVO's cap too, and I know that's not lost on REVO either.
