The reg. plate lights;

Spent some time doing the following (nothing too exciting I'm afraid);

Little niggles and rusted screws are becoming an issue when changing bulbs, pulling things off on this car. I've spent my scattered times off cleaning things, taking things off, putting them back on etc.

They were particularly annoying! :p. Simply piloted a hole in the middle of the mashed screw, and took up the bit size accordingly (1.5mm, 2mm, 4mm), finally using a 5mm bit to eliminate the head, but small enough not to damage the hole in the light;

New bulbs fitted, then re-fitted with new self tapping screws. Good as new. It's all about the small things!

Bit late now but I found out if you take the boot trim off you can twist the rusted screw from the inside with a set of pliers. Saves the drilling.

Ha, it's ok, I tried that. The boot trim was off anyway, to twist off the screws after the drilling. They were awkward to get to with a long-nose pliers, and didn't twist prior to drilling :)

Ah! Thanks Crezz! Just a wandering little wire then!

This Afternoon's Progress...

Took the door card off, as the door pocket was loose, few screws missing. Anyway, went to take it off, turns out there's no weather sheet there :confused:. On closer inspection, the window mechanism, and the bolts look relatively new, so someone must've ripped it all off. It was an excuse to clean anyway, mirror came off, seals were pealed back. Proper anal stuff;

Survived rather well, with only this area being affected by water;

Anyway, could or does anyone have the weather sheet (driver's side) code from dealers? Will they still sell them? Flapper? :p

you 'should' be able to get it still at the dealers as it's a universal sheet of the material now

3A0 867 201 H = about £7 and is a (1100 x 600 x 2) in size so just a sheet of the stuff really

also lists reqd?
D 469 101 A3
3A0 035 217

not listed so i can only assume it's the sealer to stick it down

personally i'd be down the local hardware store or ebay for something like this and a tube of sealer, if it's thick enough (2mm) cut ya own pattern out then

Thanks Flapper! It's not 6K... ... then? The one on the passenger side is ok, but there's a whole in it for the speakers, rather than a "pouch"...

The seal being the turquoise bead around the sheet?

not 6k i guess as it's not really car specific being a universal sheet

you could make a pouch with some creative folding mind

ye the seal is that gunky stuff round the edges

Yeah that's what I was going to do. I'll probably upgrade the sound system eventually, just keep it OEM though, as in, 6.5" doors, 6x4s rear and the tweeters up front. I'll make a pouch for the door speakers then :)

More Anal Cleaning...

Even more cleaning... It's the only thing I can do really, till after Easter holidays anyway!...

Cleaned the door inserts, interior cards, hinges etc;
