When you pay £300 for a rebuild you shouldnt have to double check their work, so i just bolted it straight on.
Sorted it today with longer bolts, seems the new bolts they put in were too short and either slackened or pulled the threads out of the housing. Seems to be going fine again.... And danny got it rebuilt once when he got it. The GT2x is a garret turbo and garret dont really make **** turbos. Its the quality of the parts used when it was rebuilt if you ask me.

See what you mean about needing a manifold though, glows red hot. Set fire to my fire wall heat proofing

And if you check through out the forum there is varied view on CR Turbos, Think im goin to sell up now and look at R32's

Because when i got It back i Double tighten everything....

The Gt2x is a good turbo just that cr turbos gave a poor excuse...
i don`t think its a good turbo from what i heard and read about it.
the gt28rs eliminator is a better option i think.
hope the turbo will last now bazzle.

I dont really know about it being good or bad, i guess its all to do with the quality of the bearings, seals ect and if they can with stand the forces they are under, the actual body of the turbo ect is the same as any other.
Yeah cheers mate, me too. Iv lost all confidence in the car now and sad to say im prob goin to get rid.

eh....

because one component failed! thats the risk you take with modifying cars, welcome to the club

I understand the frustration with parts failing, not being done right (believe me I KNOW:cartman:) but to chuck the car out of the window due to one component which can be rectified is a bit extreme

Yeah true, im beginning to like it again, doesnt seem to be that quick anymore though. Gets slower up the revs, manifold is the next bet and mabey a decat. But i was woundering about the fuel pump? Mabey holding it back a bit top end.

Don't get disheartened mate, get a decent manifold, and fuel pump, and get it mapped to suit and enjoy it. You'll be all over R32's by that time anyway. The bolts coming loose is nothing to do with a turbo rebuild, that was a common thing to replace with new even on K03's. Just need new bolts.

I'm with cupramillo, I much prefer your car on the OZ's, I just don't think D90's suit ibizas look far too normal, each to their own.
