Yeah it could of been Metal fragments in the oil...Get urs self a ECS magnetic sump plug

Send it to them and see what they say,,

Thats a good shout.
But surley 400 miles wouldnt **** a set of seals. I mean there must be somethin seriously wrong with my engine to cause so much metal frag that it ****ed a turbo. And why is there nothin wrong with the rest of my engine? its been serviced 3 times and iv just had it a year. Not long before i put the new turbo on and when i put it on it got all the filters and oil changed.
It does seem to be an excuse rather than the actual cause of the problem but ill have to wait and see. The engines covered just over 82k and not one leak from elsewhere on it

how is the drain pipe? kinked? collapsed? that will cause the same oil pissing out of seals scenario

Drain pipes fine. worked perfect with my old ko3 which covered 82k, weird how it would only start causing problems now

Can anyone exlain how a standard turbo can run up to 80k without a problem, no smoke ect. But then a fully rebuilt uprated one cant last for 2k?
Makes no sence to me?? Any why did they do away with the water cooling side of things?

Looks okay but you would not know if it was ever blocked before the damage started to happen unless you checked it every day or fitted an oil pressure gauge between this and the turbo.

Good point, im just tryin to think of ways to make sure this dont happen again, a turbo thats done 1600 miles shouldnt really need rebuilt again.

Yeah i know but its hard to fight when its changed hands. And have you read their warrenty rules??? need proof of regular maintanance, that its been fitted by a compitant person ect. Basically they've covered every corner for if they have made a mistake :(

C R Turbo Engineering offers a warranty, to the original purchaser, for the repair or replacement of their turbocharger for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Proof and date of the original purchase will be required before

Proof may be required of proper maintenance of manufactures routine service levels and intervals, with particular regard to oil and filter changers.
Failure to comply with manufactures service requirements will invalidate this warranty. It is vital that the turbocharger is fitted correctly, please follow all vehicle manufactures instruction as well as the C R Turbo Engineering checklist.

C R Turbo Engineering recommends that their turbochargers be fitted by someone possessing the knowledge to do so correctly. Incorrect fitting, poor engine condition or maintenance, insufficient air or oil filtration could all lead to warranty claim being rejected.

In order to assist and prevent further problems C R Turbo Engineering will issue a report on the condition of any turbocharger returned during the warranty period. This is usually a very good indicator as to the reason for any turbocharger premature failure.

Blah blah bah, inshort.......if it f*cks up...Bad luck. lol

Well thought instead of wastin a new thread id post up some pics of my old cars, see if anyone had seen them goin about.

The first car i owned was a 1.6TD golf, (embaracment)

Got a few mods done to it then my bro took care of it...permenantly lol (no injuries)
8246293973a11228443004l.jpg

Then i got my first mk1 golf and fell in love.

Then came my project build mk1 golf. 1.6 on twin fortes. Took a couple years to build from scratch and sold it on before i finished it.
Its on the road now as far as i know. Had rover half leather recaros in it flushed boot and spare wheel well, disk brakes all round. Lots of little details you wouldnt recognise unless you were a golf fan

Bough this inbetween but never finished it, stripped it and scrapped it

Then there was a nova GTE
8246293973a9562312693l.jpg

Nippy, 1.6 injection with digital dash, think its scrapped now though

Then i bought a 1.1 mk1 which i blew up and changed to a 1.3 with a polo gt box

Then was the mk4 polo, loved the rims off the mk1 so they came with
8246293973a9562312564l.jpg

Was a 1.4 8v but that didnt last long and it soon became a 1.4 16v from a lupo

Then came the golf VR6, loved it, 2 engines later sold it
8246293973a9562312725l.jpg

And now the mighty cupra, bought it pretty standard did this to it
