Looking forward to it all going on bud. I've got an LC, but have been thinking about that twinpass IC for a month or so now. Does the MAF sensor just screw off the SMIC and screw into that new replacement pipe? Is it the same for the LC as it is on your derv or do they have different sensors?

On the LC you dont need the adaptors the MAP sensor fits directly into the hole.

So am i :) You would want to copy my guide i am going to be doing for this twimpass intercooler as it will take the same route for the pipework as yours ;) The map sensors on the petrol are slightly bigger than the diesel ones, but the forge map replacement pipe comes with different size map moutings pieces so you can fit either petrol or diesel map sensor into it, hope that helps :)

Cheers fella, your a star. If you could jot down which silicone bits and pipework you used with lengths/angles, that'd be awesome. Any reason you went for the IC with 3" in/out as opposed to the one he sells with 2.5"?

Because the intercooler with 2.5" outlets is actually a smaller core, and the core ive got will fill the nice gap in the middle of the bumper perfect ;)
 
FMIC FITTED

Today i set out to get my fmic fitted, dan (s1 pru) came down to help out as he was suppying the angle grinder to cut some of the crash bar out :p

First of was to remove the bumper

Remove the old tiny intercooler

Next step was to cut some of the crash bar out, dan got to work on that :)

I then got to work on replacing the intercooler system and putting the new forge map sensor pipe into place

We then mounted the cooler and did the additional pipework needed :)

Was a good day mate long but worth it I enjoyed cutting you crash bar and other bits up with the grinder haha . Who's is that super cool but megga dirty real LCR in the back ground ? ;) . Thanks for the dinner tho dude I'm sure my misses was loving watching us all day haha . Was so loud when that boost pipe came off . And you have forgotton to mention you error of not connecting your fuel lines up when you started the car lol . Oh and that slow M5 of my mates that we went ont in ;) . All in all was a good day and hope ur happy
 
Yeah was a very good day mate, i couldn't of done it without the help of you ;) no worries about the dinner, I'm sure you deserved it after 6 hours lol. I'm sure fay was fine eating the biscuits that I didn't get any of lol. Yeah the dirty derv is much better than that black dirty lcr in the back ground :p lol. Sshh about the fuel lines haha, my mistake and you warned me lol. And not to forget the m5 we went out in, immense, all in all a very good day and much appreciated your help matey :)
 
Why was cutting into the crashbar necessary?

See the two metal struts infront of the radiator at 45 degress angle, these were stopping the fmic coming up in between the crash bar and these, there was only a 2.5 inch gap inbetween these struts and crash bar, and the thickness of the fmic is 3 inch, i was thinking of cutting the struts out, but after strugers1 (karl) done this to fit his allards fmic, it weakened the slam panel and it the bonnet would only shut with quite a bit of force and the slam panel sagged slightly. By cutting into the crash, this would bring the fmic closer to the bumper for more visibility to others :p and maybe slightly better airflow being that tad more forward. Plus the crash bar is still very strong ;) i hope :lol: I hope that explains it mate :)
