Oulton will be soon here, and its an event where we usually experience every single weather season.

Hopefully we can all try and meet at the Wyevale Garden Centre beforehand and then all treck in together.

Anyone interested ? This was my thread last season, so no reason why we cant do the same:

Last year quite a few of us met up the Red Fox Pub, then onto Wyevale Garden Centre which is located near the circuit. If anyone fancies meeting at either of these places, then these are the details.

Hopefully be meeting about 730 am (ish) ????

Situated on the A51 , cant miss it !

The Red Fox
Four Lane Ends, Tiverton, Tarporley,
Cheshire CW6 9LZ

After leaving the Red Fox we will head towards

Wyevale Garden Centre
Forest Road
Cotebrook
Tarporley
CW6 9EE

Hopefull leaving there around 815am.

I do find it crazy that the gate prices jump upto £28 just because you didn't book in advance.

I'm going to Oulton generally because it's my local track so less travelling costs involved and I enjoy the atmosphere. But I can't justify following the tour like I did in the past and can understand why people are reluctant to spend the money.

I also feel the ages for children should be increased to 15 and under. My niece has come with me every year to Oulton for the last 5 years or so. She is 12 now, and this will the last year she gets in free.

An average family of 2 adults and 2 kids (over 12) will now be looking at over £100 for a day out to a racing circuit. Not factoring in food, or travelling.

I would be surprised if there are the bumper crowds this year that Oulton have enjoyed in the past.

One good point to it being less busy - more viewpoints for the rest of us. ;) I remember in 2005 when there was that big thunderstorm and half the crowd went home to watch it on TV. We had our pick of the spots for race three!

It's really expensive these days, especially if you take your example of a family of 4 and add in camping costs too. That could all add up to a small holiday for some people. I remember when I first started following it all religously. I did half of the 2001 season and the whole of 2002. I added up my spending and it gave me a bit of a shock. And that was with an Octagon pass that got me entry into Brands, Oulton, Snett and Silverstone.

as you guys say though the saturday would be quiet, especially as the FA cup final is also one, the timetable is fully packed on the saturday and there is 3x40 minute touring car sessions, a clio cup, porsche and ginetta junior race as well, so for £12 i think its good value, but as you say the sunday is £28 and it only starts at 12 and is all done by half 5 to 6ish.... not cheap

You and me both sir. Largely depends on other people as you may have gathered from my emails - always very frustrating when you go off and it ain't nuffink to do wiv you!

I was intending to come on both days at Oulton as I usually do but went and booked myself onto a day out with the SCN crew in Leeds and forgot the date.

But I'm looking forward to Sunday, not been to a race weekend since Oulton last year.

Tickets booked for weekend including first time camping for the Mini-briefs !!!!!! Wish us luckwith the journey and the weather.

We are camping light and without the magnificent facilties/luxuries carried by the Barmy Army (as we don't posses any of them) so I'm afraid we can't offer breakfast for all on Sunday.

Will we find the Barmy Army outside the Fogarty Moss Centre overlooking Cascades/Knickerbrook by any chance?

Arrr we all have to start somewhere.....

We have been thinking where to set up camp. We have always been like you say outside Fogarty, but as you look to the right on the other side of the track, there is a massive hill, Has anyone thoughts about that as a viewing area,
