So button for driver assist system is faulty message started popping up. It seems indicator stalk is culprit.
Indicating right seems to make it disappear, indicating left seems to bring the error mostly.
There is small button at the end of stalk for driver assistance.
I have only used it few times as most of the functionality is available in infotainment screen.
So a bad design really you don't need an additional button which goes faulty.
It seems to be a common problem in VW world.
Due to this error adaptive cruise is not functional.
Seems like dealer visit to get that stalk replaced, info from here and there on other forums.

Well car was under warranty they changed the stalk assembly I think. Car was booked when I went technician came out I told him. He looked in his inventory then said need to order stalk. Then booked me again. On the day I tried asking what they are doing Service advisor had no clue. First he said they are changing steering, then he said he saw technician with solder. Definitely steering is same. Either they changed the full stalk or they repaired it. They gave me print out no where I can see parts replaced.

Same issue with the Golf. It's only the stalks that are the issue but I can't remember if you can get them separately to the steering column control module or not.
