yes, i only checked cylinder 1, gonna check all 4 tomoz. wot is the chances of all 4 coil packs going at once? the diagnostic didnt flash when the engine cut out. im puzzled! possibly plugs but they only changed 8k ago

If the wires go to the sensor at the bottom left of the engine, it's for the power steering pump, not the cause of you trouble sadly, really common for them to be broken!

cheers mate, think id better sort them anyways. gonna try changing all plugs first i think, and get it up on a ramp and check the intercooler hoses properly. if a hose was disconnected or cracked would the engine start at all?

I would disagree on it being a boost pipe! what model u got? if its a cupra it could be coilpacks maybe?!?

if a boost pipe pops off it would still run! ive popped a couple!!!!!

cheers mate im gonna buy plugs and new coil packs today, usually tho the diagnostic light comes on when they go. it wont be a waste to buy them anyways cos im bound to need them somewhere down the line lol. cheers buddy

the starter motor turns the engine over but fails to fire. im thinking coil packs and plugs, deffo not fuel cos the plugs are wet. like i said the spark seemed weak, but i never had all 4 go at once, but hey it is a cupra! cheers mate

re

another posting on this forum guy had similar problems turned out to be the 15 amp fuse under the steerin wheel no 4 to be precise

it runs for like 2 seconds then stalls it will not run!!

try this fuse as this has happened to me be careful though as my coil started fizzing, by the way your plugs should not be wet with fuel!!!

hey - my Ibiza didn't cut out when going along...

The 1st time- the Ibiza failed to start but started as soon as the AA man arrived (20 mins later) then there were no problems until....

got home and the next morning same thing happened but started after 10 mins of trying to start and was then fine until...

halfway through January the car wouldn't start after filling up with petrol but then was fine 5 mins later, UNTIL....

it COMPLETELY failed to start. AA man spent over an hour trying to get it going but towed me to my garage. Around a month later and a transfer to a SEAT garage :-( it turns out that it's the ECU...not good. The bill is looking at around £1000. SEAT said that it could be linked to my 6x9s/Amp wired up causing a spike in voltage. If it is then is there anything I can do to the guys who installed the Amp/6x9s??

But yeah...looks like a new ECU....

try disconnectin the maf had similar problems with my ibiza disconnected it an it ran bought coilpacks plugs and had a new maf on there but bought another maf as i tried an all was ok then

could do but its with SEAT now, so just waiting for the huge bill - although gonna make sure they don't rip me off or add anything in that's not needed

could it be an immob issue ?

i know with the immob chip not in the key the engine will turn over and run for about 1 - 2 seconds then cut out again.... could this be the fault ?

those two wires could be your crankshaft sensor wiring. if it is and they arent connected the car will turn over but fail to fire cos it wont know when to.As to the boost pipe theory a cracked or disconnected boost pipe wnt affect the car starting  it will just be under power with aloud air noise and very smokey thats it.hope this helps:D

Orite mate i had the same problem with my seat ibiza fr diesel and it was dodgy fuel i had to empty the tank and blow all the fuel lines out with a air line and then put it back togeather and put some new diesel in and it has never missed a beat.
