Alrite mate i just noticed you have EBC red stuff pads on your car im just wondering how well they perform as i have a set sitting in my house waiting to be fitted! Also do you sort of need to warm them up before they perform to there best?

Any luck fitting the INA mani or gasket yet? Mines go on this friday hopefuly its a straight forward fit for the mani :D

Hi mate, really happy with the Red Stuff/Black Diamond combo, really help when stamping on. Must warn you, mine made the most terrible metallic squealing when bedding in. To the point I got towed home from my mates house in Leeds, we thought something was catching!!! But it's just a case of bedding them in.
Not got the INA Mani or Gasket on yet....between the weather and being ill it's proper had me on my backside! Hoping to have a crack at it on the 16th with my mate. We're expecting the Mani to be a 6+ hours job tho as you have to take the turbo etc off to get to it(I'm told this is the figure Awesome quote for a turbo assembly removal), someone has warned me it may take a bit of grinding to get it to sit right, hopefully the gasket will be about 10mins :)

Not looking forward to bedding them in then haha! Well hope your better soon mate :(! If all goes well i shall report back to you about fridays outcome the guy i was speaking to said it would take roughly half a day but hes quoted a really good price, i have also informed him that it may need a bit of grinding and he said if thats the case the price will bump up slightly but not by much!

Have just ordered a fresh batch of Collonite wax and some Sonus polish...looking forward to when this weather dries up a bit. Consiering switching to a Jetex open cone filter instead of my panel filter...hmmm..?

Hmmm they're not actually too pricey either...hmmm...lol
What do you do with all the other hosing hosing for the secondary air pump etc that runs into the airbox mate? Also, did you just keep the cold air feed in place or have to knock up any brackets or anything?

Am tempted to do that...I actually bought all the bits for doing it a few months back as I thought my seconday air pump had gone, but it had a stay of execution when I realised it was just a split vac hose from rubbing on my DV lol

What would you recommend for a novice detailer? There seem to be soooo many products on the market and its a minefield. I want my car looking great for the summer...

I'll give you a rundown for a good exterior clean that I do on a weekend with a beer or two and some tunes on the stereo:

2 Buckets, one with soap and one with grit gaurd and just water, Wash mitt (Rub mitt over grit guard before getting fresh water/soap from other).

Step 1:
Rinse car all over with hosepipe/pressure washer
Use Meguiars Wheel Brightener (diluted) on alloys with a good soft brush
Use Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss working around the car from top to bottom, so as not to get grit from lower edges onto paintwork
Rinse off, then use Chamois/Meguiars Water Magnet to dry, make sure you clean and dry door and boot shuts :)

Step 2:
Use either Sonus Green Clay bar with lube or Meguiars Paint Cleaner (Deep Crystal kit Stage 1), on all paintwork then buff off.

Step 3:
Polish with your choice of polish AG Super Resin/Sonus Step Enhance/Meguiars Deep Crystal Stage 2etc...
Buff off.

Step 4:
Glaze with Sonus Final Finish/Poorboys Blackhole etc.
Buff off.

Step 5:
Wax. Had really nice results with Meguiars Deep Crystal Stage 3 Carnauba Wax, AG High Definition Wax is brilliant but pricey, haven't tried this Collonite yet but my mate, who is a pro detailer, swears by Collonite 845.
Buff off, maybe put a second coat on for extra protection.

I usually dress the tyres with AG Instant Tyre shine as well.

I get all my cleaning gear, clothes, buckets, everything, from www.cleanyourcar.co.uk , they're the best place I've found for stuff.

To give you an idea what sort of finish you get after that lot, this is a pic I took after doing all that to my old Corsa:

Depends on budget as well mate...I'll be fair to Meguiars, the Deep Crystal 3 Stage treatment is really good for the money, a lot of the other stuff can be pricey, I know AG High Def wax is still around £40 for example.....cleanyourcar also sell a lot of stuff bulk, I tend to buy the shampoo and wheel cleaner in gallon containers, saves a packet and lasts aggggess!
Make sure you get a good quality washmitt, I use a lambswool one, also some good foam pads for applying polishes and waxes and also good microfibre clothes for buffing with :)

Thanks! Will try to spend as little as possible... or not let it get out of control I should say. ;)
