Chip or remap - mobile?

Being a plonker, used to live in the South East and I'm so used to typing it. I'm near Oxford, so central really. I'd be happy to find one an hour away but 90 mins is doable also. The revo dealer locator doesn't work on my phone, but I'm at laptop now so can have a browse. Just wondered if there were any preferred ones.
Slow afternoon at work so I did quite a bit of searching around the various VAG forums, and the feedback for DTUK is about 99% positive.
I'm still a bit leery of the power claims - perhaps its just the remappers being conservative with their power figures? - but as DTUK are offering a discount to forum members that brings it below remap prices I'm getting very tempted.
My insurance renewal is September so I've got a while to decide yet.
Don't they have a 14 day returns policy, so if you don't like it, you can unplug it and send it back for a full refund.
The figures are impressive but effectively they are a resistor that decreases voltage from fuel rail to ecu so ecu thinks it's running lean so pushes more fuel in.
Where a remap re programmes all the variables fuel timing turbo boost so everything is working in harmony. And cos everything is controlled the ecu can cut power if there is a problem.
The other problem is cos so much fuel is being pumped in u should get extra soot which will mess up the dpf

I've never found it so difficult to give someone my money before. Nobody replies to emails and the one reply I did get said you'll have to go straight to super chips to get your ECU taken out and unlocked.
I've gone off angel tuning after seeing some awful reviews on here. Time to call some more revo dealers...

Spoke to Dialynx, nice lad answered the phone but said you have to remap on a weekday and they need the car for the whole day as they have to communicate a lot with revo to get the ECU unlocked. Seems like a complete ball ache and I don't fancy taking a whole day off to twiddle my thumbs in Swindon

Mmm right on the change plate. Having said that I've flashed a couple of unlocked 60 plate cars.
It's easy enough to check though, either remove the ecu and test it or attempt a flash and it'll stick in flash mode.

I wouldn't know how to do any of that. I think I will just take a whole day off and take it somewhere, and find a way to waste time. The car is brilliant but it does need a bit more grunt.
I am not comfortable using Superchips after reading their maps are underwhelming compared to Revo. If I'm gonna splash out a few hundred quid I want to make sure it's worth it. APS in Brackley said the maps they use on diesels are Superchips, so I don't want to go that route.
I'll just have to take lots of things to do
I went for Superchips. I just spoke to the guy on the phone from their HQ and he certainly seemed to know his stuff, said it may need unlocking but to try myself first anyway. As APS have pointed me towards them that's a bit of reassurance as well. It'll arrive tomorrow, fingers crossed it's not a locked ECU and that I made a good decision! Superchips AFAIK do offer a money back policy if you return the bluefin in new condition.
