Chrome interior Parts.

The stealer fitted my chrome pack from new, but they messed it up and took a chunk out of the dash when doing one of the centre air vents and didn't fix it. I complained and they got some specialist repair bloke out who fixed it spotless. So if you've messed up your dash is repairable.

Well after all the posts that keep being made about the chrome interior parts and peoplea asking what they look like I thought I would post some pictures of the chome parts to help answer these.

as these are quite hard to fit thought I would post what Edbulter's guide on how to do it, sains he seems to be repeating himself saying it a lot in threads.

Another way is also to put cable ties into the grill and pull out the front then attach the chrome surrounds and put them back in. This can be complicated but saves time and effort.

Chears again to ED for guide and other members for answering my questions when I was putting fitting these. Hope this answers some questions people might have.

Mate i've been looking for a dead pedal for ages and can't find any for my Ibiza.

Where did you get yours from and how much?

Cheers

Can some one tell me if the mothod of removing the centre vents to fit the chrome surrounds can be realy done by turning the central part 180 degrees so its facing inwards and then just pulling it out.I tried to turn it that far but it doesnt go a full 180 and i dont want to break it.But also dont realy want to remove the console.Ive seen them on ebay from a seller fro £24 and they are said to be original seat and apparently these cost £75 from seat direct. Is this true?

these are about £20iirc from the dealer. to remove the vents is a pig, most loop a zip tie through and pull and they pop out.

Hi thanks for the info just to double check ,if i use zip ties do i just thread them in and behind the vent slats and then back out? also is there any risk of breaking anything when you pull them out.

My dealer fitted chrome surrounds fell out after 7 years. To put them back I went for the remove head unit and centre console option, which I would recommend. Here are some pictures I took.

In this picture you can see the 2 of the tabs at 2 and 4 o'clock that davart mentioned, and the notch in the dash at the 10 o'clock position for the locating tab on the chrome surround.

The vent is actually a separate unit and can be taken right out.

It is a tight fit to get out, I pushed the top through a bit then the bottom then the top again and continued till I had wiggled it out. In this picture you can see the round pipe in the dash that the air vent unit fits into.

There are guides round the air vent unit so the clips on the chrome surround only fit in four places, all you have to do is make sure you have the unit up the right way and the locating tab it is top left.

which do you think look better? Chrome or Aluminium?

I am going to get the air vent surrounds & gear gaitor surrounds but want dial surrounds to, but not sure whether to get chrome or aluminium - opinions please?

Interior looks great though mate - nice car!!
