Colour coding rubstrips

Anyone done this?

I done it on my old 306 and it looked good.

Just in two minds whether to do it on a silver TDI Sport. It's a 5 door so I want to make it look a bit more modern.

Cheap mod anyway.

I'm thinking of doing this, not sure how to go about it though, bet there is loads of guides out there.

You have 2 options:

1) Mask off the rest of the car, rub down the existing side strips and paint them in situ

2) Buy new trims (~£20 from Seat) and paint off the car

2 usually results in a better job, but costs a little more, and is less risky. And you can't remove the existing side strips as they bend badly (as they are stuck on (with holes to locate them behind)) so become unusable

George is right with the two options, i took the second one, purely because it seemed hugely difficult to rub them down properly in situ...

Only problem is, taking them off leaves the adhesive on the paint, which can be taken off with white spirit and a bit of elbow grease..

otherwise, great mod! really makes the car stand out, especially in brighter, shinier colours, such as mine

Thinking of doing this to my 1.2, as its cheap and looks cool...

i've also seen some with color coded door handles, any tips for doing them or buying them?

also whats colour watch like?

buy new strips....so easy to do, no risk of overspray etc....
