Hi guys

Am currently looking to get a Cupra, I was looking at this

autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201219469215687/sort/default/usedcars/price-to/5000/price-from/4000/model/ibiza/make/seat/keywords/cupra/page/1/postcode/b11bd/radius/1500?logcode=p

Really low miles, however it's listed as a Cupra but clearly has FR spec seats, steering wheel, alloys and no Cupra on the back which makes me think it isn't, however after running a check it is listed as a Cupra

Vehicle Identification

Manufacturer: Seat
Model: Ibiza Cupra T (180)
Year: 2005
Colour: Black
Fuel Type: Petrol
Engine Size (CC): 1796
VIN: Not available
V5C Issued: Not available

Any ideas?

Weird!

Cupra APs wont fit behind those wheels and I thought that bumper needed a lot of cutting to have a front mount intercooler behind it

Sent my mate to have a look, as he is local, from what I have back from him it's definately a FR in terms of trim (100% FR tim), however the system brings it up as a Cupra.

Is there any way to check engine bay wise? Are there any differences in there?

Chris - That's the only explanation I have at the moment! Is there a way to check this? I guess not lol

Thanks for the quick replies by the way :)

Yea, I've decided to give this one a miss, glad I did some checking though and thanks for the confirmation. DVLA are known to make this kind of mistake anyway tbh. My old Escort (going back 10 years here now) was listed with the wrong amount of doors for a year before I noticed lol.

PS, that link looks a decent motor :)

I've seen this too, i think it was a cupra in a former life, but it's been in an accident and has been repaired using FR parts. A full HPI check (not the iPhone app) will tell you, cost around £20. But i wouldn't bother wasting my money on one.

Steer clear of it.

Yea, that's another explantion, either way I'm not going to be trekking up there to see it now, only cost me a couple of beers to send my mate so no biggy, I have a couple of HPI checks in the bank as it was better value to get 3 but shall save them for another day :).
