Has anyone with a 300 ST had a res delete done? Wanting to know how it sounds and whether ir drones on motorway speeds. A video would be appreciated. Thx

@Adrian300... I had a res delete done on my 2017 St300 and to be honest it don’t really make that much difference at all. Not too much drone on the motorway, but you will struggle with the pops, crackles&dsg farts . If your after a decent sound then I would invest in a cat back system.

Thats brilliant info. I am actually picking up a 17plate st300 this saturday. If thats the case i may just see how i get on as standard.

So if you had the choice again as to whether to do the res delete on a st300 would u do it?

Hmmm....remember you can get the res delete reversed if you don’t like it, but that could be a waste of money. I paid £635 for a cat back exhaust system from a German company with rs4/6 style tips and it sounds amazing, way better than a res delete. Pops, overuns, dsg farts with ease.

Adrian have a read of the following posts, this was before I got the golf r estate exhaust. Used a zaustworxs res delete. Like you I didn't want to spend a silly amount on what is a glorified stainless steel tube.

https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/res-delete.452393/page-2#post-4852595

https://forums.seatcupra.net/index....-resonator-delete.444531/page-13#post-4844861

Now I’ve left the original OEM resonator on the Golf R estate exhaust, and actually find it drones more than the zaustworxs res delete. So work that one out…..

as for the OEM Res I say it drones, however that's not at motorway speeds so its fine.

Its monsoon grey second best colour after the desire red, however I think i prefer the grey now as it makes the cupra look mean.... then again I'm biased ;).

So pleased I ordered one of those diffusers when the eBay offer was on, looks awesome. Of course I am biased to you having the best colour too :cheeky:

So yes this was the 4 drive version however I should think from the t piece backwards it should be the same. Now I asked Ross @ RPS what the part numbers are for just the twin exit back boxes, which are

5G9253609BB - £212.06 inc VAT
5G9253609BC - £212.06

I think the price is bloody good, close to the miltek cat back price. However I like keeping things OEM.

That’s the MQB Chassis for you, they are the same between the golf r estate and the Cupra st. It is strange how it’s offset though. Been out driving it the last few days, and WOW the dsg pops are so loud. Not much overrun noise. Can’t have it all though.... they are drony at idle more than stock. So I can see why @Damoh removed his res delete. The drone would be stupid.

Too bloody right can’t agree more.

They should’ve come fitted with the side skirts, quad exhaust and front splitter, this would’ve given them the more aggressive look over the FR.

More images

Diffuser after cutting, not brilliant ended up cutting it to work out I could heat it up and bend the plastic to match the old style.

Where can you buy the OEM back boxes for that price?
5G9253609BB - £212.06 inc VAT
5G9253609BC - £212.06

Thanks

RPS they are on our dealer parts section. also known as listers SEAT.
How are they usually fitted. Welded or clamping sleeves? The original systems in this thread have the rear silencers attached. I suspect I've answered my own question!

So the whole system is considered an assembly which has a different part no. I posted it further back.

However the above part no’s will be the separate back boxes and require a clamping sleeve. I assume one has the y piece like the image below.

Car Length In Front
It’ll be one system from the factory, but you’ll be able to buy the sections to repair accident damage etc
